A bipartisan coalition of Members of Congress and 2016 congressional candidates filed a federal lawsuit today against the Federal Election Commission seeking to end super PAC spending in US elections. The lawsuit, led by Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA-33), Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Representative Walter Jones (R-NC-3), seeks to reverse a federal appeals court ruling which created super PACs and has resulted in an explosion of spending in elections across the country.

A federal judge on Friday said he will issue a restraining order against Donald Trump's campaign and longtime adviser Roger Stone to avoid "harassing or intimidating conduct" at polling places on Nov. 8 Election Day.
U.S. District Judge James Gwin did not specify exactly what will or will not be allowed but said the order would likely be generic and prohibit both Democrats and Republicans from any harassment of people entering and leaving polling places.
"It wouldn't be any attempt to particularly identify as somebody being a Trump supporter or not," Gwin said.
The decision came following a more than two-hour hearing. Gwin said he intends to release a written order on Friday afternoon.

Whoa, I had no idea. He sent me a PM a couple of days ago, so it must have been something he said since then... which was mostly just complaining about the degree to which people were relying on 538's model.

I did a bit of research just now (google). Every site that came up was a right wing site where they described it as meals made with certain body fluids. I would assume from this that it is a right wing ritual as so many right wing commentators are familiar with the term.
By the way, Donald Trump is pretty right wing. I wonder if he does that "spirit cooking" thing. Some of the stuff he does is so weird.

His claim that no one understood the methodology just because HE didn't was pretty distasteful.
I would guess it was something else, or self-ban.
Surprised. He was a good contributor most of the time.

He loved playing the contrarian to the point where he became a caricature. I don't think he believed half the stuff he tried to argue in this thread.

Every forum needs a devil's advocate. This one likes to ban theirs though.

I just think, assuming that he was banned and didn't ask for a self imposed one, that the fact that someone who contributes a lot to the forum, in other places besides this thread, gets banned because he can be annoying is a little much.
There are posters here who rarely contribute at all until they come around to purposely derail threads through vitriolic means and nothing happens to them.

I still think CP needs to have a "Rap Sheet" page like SA for each poster so you can see what post they were probated/banned for, how long the probate is for, and what reason was given by the mod. It's a great transparency tool and fun to read.

I was recently given an infraction for making an off colour joke about Katz' face.
It was pretty vicious. Since we're sharing.
