Eventually. I don't think he's quite ready ATM, but if Markstrom falters in the first 20 or so games, it's time to bring him up.
Let Wolf start in the AHL and get on a roll, then bring him up when his confidence has peaked.

Team works to overcome Markstrom being 2nd best goalie on the ice by a fair margin. How familiar.

Coronato was awesome tonight, but I thought Ruzicka and Sharangovich also had good games. I have loved what I have seen from Ruzicka—this has been by far his best camp performance ever.

Really? I didn't think Hellebuyck looked any better.

Ruzicka coming back as the good Ruzicka is very good news for Flames fans.
I know he's not always utilized as one, but you can never have too many skilled centers.

Oh, come on, it wasn't that big a margin. Both goalies were awful, with the exception of one save by Helly.

OK, for those who don't want to talk about awesomeness and Coronato, I stuck my neck out and started a PGT, right over that-a-way.

Agreed. There is a good goalie there in regards to Markstrom, hopefully he comes to play come regular season.

You might want to PM Spurs.

Well, the volume of shots was something like 2 to 1, and it ended up 5-4. So one guy was certainly making saves at a worse clip.
But yeah, I wasn't impressed by either guy.

And of course the newly minted captain.

That was a very sluggish start, and the D pairings were off sync. The Zadorov - Oesterle pairing was the best out of all 3 tonight.
Backlund - Coronato were fun to watch.
Coleman and the 4th line were pretty bad tonight.
The first line started generating more chances as the game went on. I really liked the rush at the end.
Kadri is quietly one of the best forwards.
Sharangovich, Dube and Ruzicka had a very good game generating chances.
This game 40+ shots felt like 40+ shots.
Markstrom is still shaking off some rust. Hopefully he'll get back to being a solid, confident goalie.

Zadorov is frankly making Hanifin look disposable by comparison over this camp.
But it is still just camp, and vets will vet..

Was there a shootout? I thought all the pre-season games finished with a shootout?
Maybe they heard us bitching about it and cancelled it.

Never seen that, unless you're referring to intersquad games.

They did it for the Los Angeles-Arizona game in Australia. I haven't seen any Calgary games have one.
