Agreed. Which IMO is mostly about teammates.

No good reason to not have both players signed prior to training camp as if it doesn’t happen it’s likely because the players have one foot out the door. If they aren’t signed by the beginning of the season it’s going to cast a dark cloud over the organization as media and fans will be unrelenting with the negative talk around the players leaving given what just happened this offseason. I would rather start the season with some certainty.

Hopefully they fall in love with Calgary and sign long term deals. I still hope we add one more scoring piece to the forward group.

But, what the hell? You are using a different phone than me. And possibly one without such gaping vulnerabilities.

I agree that both these players need to be signed because it’s a lot of uncertainty for the organization and fanbase. We don’t want to go through the last season again and not knowing if your top players are staying or moving on.
I get the Tkachuk trade and getting good assets in return which is fine but it keeps the team in a holding pattern. Yeah we’ll be a good team with Huberdeau and Weegar for one season but then what, I’d like to see a more long term plan.
I wouldn’t doubt it doesn’t have an effect on ticket sales cause most fans know Tkachuk and Gaudreau and not so much the new guys. That’s going to take some time and having them for just one season won’t be that beneficial for long time fans.

I would hope that most fans are aware that management is under no obligation to publicise their plans, nor to provide periodic updates. Just because we are not prive to what is going on behind closed doors is no indication that there is no long-term plan in place. In fact, given what has happened this summer it would be very surprising if there was not already multiple plans for various contingencies.

Some of us had a bitter Friday night I guess. The insinuation that you are going to hack a poster's phone due to firmware vulnerabilities is one of the sillier things I've seen on here. Nice Samsung, would be a real shame if I got in wifi range.

Only three guys have signed early extensions so far: Thomas, Cirelli, Sergachev. All RFAs, and two on the same team.
No need to worry until MacKinnon and dozens of other future UFAs start getting extended.

And honestly if that's the case is it too much to ask that the club ownership just trust the fan base and do the right thing and move them?
You're in Canada.
You're going to get 85% capacity regardless.
Just build the damn team in an asset management view for god's sake.

I think you have to adjust for your market.
If you're in Calgary you have to have a tighter line (timeline) in getting guys signed.
Too much risk.
MacKinnon isn't going anywhere for sure. But they are cup champs in Denver and he's the face of the franchise.
Nothing about Huberdeau or Weegar suggests Calgary can play the long game on this.

Saw a post on Instagram with he and Weegs having a fire and the only caption was very happy.
Not sure if this means anything other than he's picked his jersey # or if he's getting ready to sign for his new # $ .
Fingers crossed nervously anticipating this happening.

Definitely agree, but we should acknowledge that this was a shocking turn of events for both of these guys and it's okay to be a little bit patient. But probably not waiting until full contact games patient...

They were in back in Florida for Ekblad's wedding today apparently.
They haven't even flown into Calgary yet, I wouldn't expect any signing yet.

So if you start a new job in a new city you'd sign an 8 year contract before your first day? Instead of maybe working there a few months to see how you like the boss / coworkers / city?

If the job pays me over $9M a year, that's over $72M, I can retire comfortably after that. So, yeah!
