C'mon now, let's not pick on people because of their appearance...
Ron Orr in particular does not need to have his appearance picked on in order to make the point that he's a doofus. He's doofus for saying things like "The human tragedy of what’s going to happen with [marijuana legalization] has yet to be revealed," and compared it to the eradication of the opium trade in China by the communists ( https://globalnews.ca/news/3889241/a...st-revolution/), and "I also believe [Jason Kenney] is the leader God raised up for these times."

Puke.
I'm convinced the UCP is just trolling Alberta now. They want to see how many times they can do this to their base and get away with it:

Ignorance is bliss, until the party you voted for because you were fooled into thinking they were going to "stand up to Trudeau" fails miserably to do so and has basically done everything they could to look more corrupt by comparison.

I've said this in the past, but... Would you want the job?
IMO, most "quality" people have better things to do with their lives than be involved in Canadian politics, so we're left with those that don't.

I think more capable people would try to get into politics if they had the means(money and time) to do so.

As a normie who is now a politician, I can say that, yes, most politicians are quite dumb and short sighted and often quite terrible people.
There are some good ones. Most kinda suck.
At least at the municipal/provincial level.
I am sure it's worse at the Federal level.

PST is a consumption tax, as is the GST. Alberta has skated around it because of other revenues. Now the oil revenue is coming back, and Alberta is going to see surpluses.
Should there be a PST? The lack of one does separate government revenue from how the other provinces operate (BC in my experience has too much on the ticker when people buy groceries, for example)
So are you saying, higher corporate tax and use that to forego PST? Have you done the math? I haven't.

That's weird, considering groceries are among the many exemptions:
- Food for human consumption (e.g. basic groceries and prepared food such as restaurant meals)
- Books, newspapers and magazines
- Children-sized clothing
- Bicycles
- Prescription medications and household medical aids such as cough syrup and pain medications
- Sales and rentals of real property (e.g. house, commercial property)
- Public and private campsites
- Admissions and memberships
- Professional services (other than legal services)
- Transportation fares (e.g. bus, train, ferry, airline)

Would it be possible for a party to name their potential cabinet before the election and run qualified people for those posts. Like a minister of culture-to-be that has an arts background or a transport minister that has industry experience?

I want nothing to do with APP, that would be a disaster, since I'm remote now might consider a move just to stay with CPP.

It says opt-in to the APP? Thats more realistic than previously where the UCP wanted Alberta's share of CPP as seed capital.
But still can't see how their fiscal management could ever get an APP to succeed.

To make it better, we are going to split it into multiple projects, which means doing one or two spots each year, likely will cost even more than the overall P3 project in the end, and guarantee at least 6 years of construction delays instead of 1-2. I love this decision making so much.
How is the Green Line even going to move forward if a $200mil project on a road used by tons of Calgarians can't even get going.
