Flames really "flames'd" that stretch run up with a boisterous 4-1 finish and leap frogging as many teams as was mathematically possible at the time lol.

Think it was more about Darryl this time around. The only game we lost was when Domingue was in and he played Markstrom 3 out of the 4 for whatever reason. Darryl wants to win, every game he coaches. Does not give a crap about where the team drafts.

And that is how you instill it to the players...play to win every single time.

They dropped a couple spots...one of the teams doesn't even get a pick

Such a Flames thing to do. And that's how you stay a mediocre franchise forever, which is what the Flames have essentially been especially in this modern day NHL
If they didn't win those 4 games, they would have had the 5th overall pick with an 8.5% chance to pick in the top 2, instead of an 2.2% chance. That top 5 pick would have been able to create a better package deal for Eichel.
But hey, Flames right? And all the people on here cheering for them every time they scored in these pointless last few games lol. Anyways, get ready for Flames to return next year with essentially the same roster or at least 90-95% of it, as after every other off-season, only to miss the playoffs or get slapped around and bounced round 1, as usual.

Naw. With the 4 wins they passed Detroit, LA, CLB, San Jose, Ottawa and Chicago. They also made sure Van couldn't pass them.
That's more than a couple.

RW Chase Stillman,6'1"183lbs (Sudbury,OHL): Ok, I've pumped this kid's tires a few times already, but I want you all to love him as I do. In his D minus one year, he played for his Father (Cory) who is the coach of the Sudbury Wolves. Cory does not give rookies any time on special teams, and because it was a fairly veteran-laden squad, Chase was mostly relegated to the 3rd line with bad zone starts. Despite that, he still managed to put up 34 pts in 58 games to go with 63 PIMs, with no PP time. This year, he spent some time in Denmark playing for Esbjerg U20, where he destroyed with 16pts (9 goals) in just 8 games, with 43 PIMs. His year also took him to the U-18's, where he really caught my eye playing 3rd line, putting up 4 points in 7 games. If he was playing in the OHL this year, his stats would make him a sure-fire first-rounder, IMO.
Stillman mostly plays it simple, but has a little of everything-size, speed, grit, skill, and a solid 200ft game. He's considered a fast skater, with good bursts in traffic, effective balance and edging, with good lateral movement. He's obviously worked hard on his speed in the last few years, but has a touch of room for improvement, particularly in his top speed and acceleration. It looked very good in the U-18's, and any hitch will be taken care of as he gets stronger.
Chase has developed a wicked shot, much like the one his Dad had-hard and accurate with a great release. His hockey sense is top-notch-knows where to be in all 3 zones. He can shoot or pass at high speed. His Father has really instilled a commitment to hard work and defensive commitment in him-nothing was ever given to him in Sudbury. Another big part of his identity is how mean, physical, and gritty he is-he has high motor, and works harder than everybody else. Monster on the forecheck, and in the trenches. I've noticed his wide array of slick moves to get around in traffic-his first OHL goal was an ankle-breaking toe drag around a defenseman, who fell on his face.
Stillman seems firmly entrenched in the second round in most lists, and he's my pick for the Flames in that round, but I know he'll be gone by then. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade-down in order to take him in the first, I like him that much.

I honestly believe that Matt Coronato could actually be a top-line forward in the NHL soon. He has the speed, offensive IQ, shiftiness, and goes to the net. He kinda reminds me of a mix between Debrincat and Cammalleri
Some really good highlight videos for this prospect available online.

Coronato was the second leading scorer in the USHL. His 48 goals were first in the league, by a WHOPPING 16, and his 57 PIMs were third in the top-20 scorers list. Kid's an absolute killer.

I just saw a pic of Sillinger playing shinny wearing a Gaudreau jersey.

He narrowly lost out on Rookie of the Year last year in the WHL to Dylan Geunther. In terms of straight talent, he’s up there with Beniers, Guenther, and Johnson-he’s just a project when it comes to his skating. He’s undeniably got some work to do. I still think a team will take him early, as the Jets did with Scheifle, who’s skating was widely criticized as well.
He’s got one of the best shots in the draft, too

If the rangers or anyone else who finished higher than us wins the lotto, the skip the line to 1, thusly pushing everybody back a spot.
Like if the Flames win, everyone 1-11 goes down a spot. Everyone below 12 stays the same.

Oh ya because they didn't understand that before. 4 meaningless games is really going to teach them something that playing hockey the last 2 decades hasn't. When they return next year they'll completely forget the 52 games they blew and be so inspired by the 3 meaningless games at the end of the year they won. Such a load of BS.

LHD Tyson Hinds, 6'3"179lbs (Rimouski, QMJHL): Started the year with the team that drafted him in the second round in 2019, Shawinigan, but was traded after 10 games to Rimouski. He wasn't getting an opportunity with Shawinigan, playing 3rd pairing (rotating between RD and LD) on a conservative, forward-centric team that doesn't let the D activate much. His game took off after the trade, as Rimouski plays a more up-tempo style, and he soon became their #1 defenseman, with 15pts in 23 games. Hinds is Multi-faceted, and just beginning to realize his potential.
Hinds is considered a great skater, especially for a guy his size, and he's known for his fantastic transition game. One writer said "his ability to generate smooth transitions with smart, timely passing sets him apart from other defensemen in Q". He can pass the puck out of the zone, or rush it out himself with his speed. Attacks the play in all 3 zones with his strong bursts, and effortless stride. Great vision and IQ. He can pinch, and still get back, although he's been caught up ice a few times.
Before the trade, he was known for his gritty shutdown game. He's great 1 on 1, and will do anything to win battles down low. He never shies away from throwing his body around, and is simply nasty to play against. Always in good position with long reach, and an active stick. Never takes himself out of position to make the big hit. He will need to keep polishing certain aspects of his skating for the next level.
Hinds probably won't make it out of the third round of the Draft.
