One commenter mentioned that I would not be surprised if the most expensive price point $599, also included the Vita due to the awesome remote play functionality.
man, 399 sounds awesome. i only play nhl/madden for the most part, and that too mainly offline.

399 for an upgrade would be sweet.

If Sony comes out and does not have a DRM feature in the system (Could leave it to the publisher) and a 399 price point...It could get very ugly for Microsoft

So what is outright exclusive to Xbone that people would really want to get the system for?

Killzone and Titanfall? Killer Instinct for me if it were not made by Double Helix. Halo I guess would fall there too.

dont understand why though....the 360 killed the PS3 in sales...

im expecting the Xbox One to do the same to the PS4...

best feature so far out of both consoles i like is the integration between TV and Console....the Xbox One is now pretty much a media center/server.

Plus Xbox Live is 10x the product that the PS Network online is....

I primarily play FIFA and it is a way better quality game online and offline on the Xbox 360 than on the PS3

Actually PS3 has outsold the Xbox 360.

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/01/ps3...sales-figures/

I own both right now, and prefer my 360 but am leaning heavily towards the PS4 after this, not to mention the PS will have ~50% more graphical horsepower, not including the resources that need to be set aside for Kinect and the 3 OSs.

I too am going back to Sony next console. I went PS2 to 360 but after seeing everything on One I can't see how I won't jump back to Sony.

360 had stronger sales out of the gate than PS3 because it was a) first released by a year (Nov 22, 2005 vs Nov 11 2006), b) had more launch titles, and c) easier to code for.

This time, the XBone will have none of those advantages.

It will be interesting to see hwo this plays out.

Just a quick follow up on this. 50" - 4k on amazon just on sale for <1,100.

Relatively no name and .com but still a sign of things to come.

what dont you like about the Xbox One that Sony has? DRM?

Sony will have the same DRM policies because the policies are set by the publishing companies and not by Sony or Microsoft.

Also, Xbox Live blows PSN out of the water in terms of online gaming.

I own both 360 and PS3....will probably get both Xbox One and PS4 on launch.

I only get the Playstation for its exclusive games. Also due to development for the PS3 being a pain in the ass....a lot of the games look better on the 360 than they do on the PS3.

My point still stands. You want new technology then be prepared to pay the premium. I don't know why people are whining about paying $500 for something that is probably going to last 10 years (if we have a similar lifespan). There are people who will spend > $500 every year just to get the latest Apple product.

You maybe have gotten lucky with that deal because I can honestly say that the price was never honored, and they usually have fine print stating the price is subject to change.
It depends where you buy it and their policy. For example, Bestbuy claims if it goes up they will honor the price you payed originally.

This will only matter for PS4 exclusives, since developers have to code for the weakest link in multi-platform releases

I agree somewhat, but simply having to have 3 GB of RAM set aside for the OS already means that the PS4 can store higher res textures by simply increasing the resolution.

It also might allow for higher AA, better shadows, and framerates.

As the architecture is so similar it might be like playing a game on your PC at medium vs high.

Not sure about all this technical stuff, but the 360 also uses the cloud to process and run the game.

Hehe. Thats what the devs said SimCity did, and look where that got them.

That's pretty much a myth. Think about the horsepower Microsoft would need to do any kind of centralized game rendering for millions of users. And there's no way that information can be sent to your console over broadband at even a fraction of the speed of what the internal CPU and GPU can

I actually wish I had gone PS3 instead of 360 because I am more into rpg's than shooters and Sony offers better titles imo. Add the above connection every 24hrs crap, the kinect thing, and the fact that Sony is more aiming toward gamers as opposed to the all in one system Microsoft is pedalling and it is an easy choice for me.

I agree for big world far away rendering, or maybe behind the scenes stuff, but the problem with the cloud is latency.

It would never work for stuff you are staring right at, as the delay would be significant enough to notice, and it is the stuff you look at that tends to matter in terms of graphical prowess.

I'll likely buy a One in a few years, and at that point some creative cloud things might be happening, but right now it is just a gimmick.

And Hemi is right about the amount of power and bandwidth any useful calculations would take. SimCity took weeks to fix what is essentially resource sharing between cities which compared to rendering complex graphics or running intense calculations is child's play.
