This is a scary scenario indeed, and very likely. He gets over it in 2 weeks and begins his told you so tour.

I still don't see how this qualifies as good news for the Trump campaign. How does this "dominate the news cycle"? Yes, everyone reports he has COVID. But what else is there to report about it? It's not like there's going to be new breaking news about it every two hours. He has it. That's... the story's over.
Granted, there might be news about other people around him getting it. But even that doesn't seem like a good thing for his chances. All that does is remind people how badly managed the whole thing has been down there.

It does seem odd that the administration would admit to them having COVID.
If trump has to quarantine, doesn’t it basically sink his campaign? No fundraisers for two weeks?
Or does his base come together to help the sick president? Who has a virus they don’t think is real? Even that doesn’t make sense to me.

Half his based is convinced it's a hoax, so it will be interesting to see how they react. Is Trump part of the hoax now? The brain pretzels must really be tough for those people.

I don't think that the administration thinks COVID is a hoax, they just think it's not as serious as the Dems say it is, Dem Governors weaponizing it etc... Once he comes out of this, it will indeed be an I told you so tour. I mean Bolsonaro in Brazil's gotten it three times and he's still downplaying it.

Nah, Soros and China created some other COVID that isn't a hoax, with ANTIFA administrating it through riots.

It's not the democrats saying it's serious; it's the medical community saying it's serious. Dems are just listening to the experts, whereas moronic republicans are just believing the fantasy they created. Republicans have politicized it.
The I-told-you-so tour will be very real, but hopefully this kicks him in the nuts hard enough to make him lethargic for the rest of the campaign.

I have to think they've been footballing this virus around the frat house and party plane for a while. They probably have a pretty good load going.

Who cares if they think it’s a hoax. He can’t campaign for two weeks with only four weeks left. That’s gotta be the death knell for his campaign.
Which makes it very odd. Only way this works is if he miraculously recovers in a matter of days and is back on the campaign trail.

Fatigue is a serious issue with many that get over covid 19, I dont expect him to handle hour long speeches to his cult like he has.

If nothing significant happened between now and the election, Trump would lose. Any event like this that creates chaos can only help.

There’s very good odds in two weeks Trump is back campaigning as normal, sneering that it wasn’t even as bad as a typical flu. You don’t think that boosts his message that the elites are overreacting to Covid and can’t be trusted?

It just keeps popping into my head how insane it is that the President of the United States would fake contracting a disease from the worst pandemic in a century, and that it's not only not a crazy thought, but it wouldn't even be slightly surprising if true. One area Trump's Presidency can be considered a major success is lowering the credibility of the office. What the ####...

Anyone stupid enough to believe that is already a republican, so no, I don’t see any benefit to his campaign.

Everything seems to leak out of his administration, so we'll probably know if it is fake.
I see the UK bookmakers have all halted election betting after the announcement.

So either stupidity or hoax. Again, you can't be shocked at either, so how they've blurred the lines is impressive.

Hmmmmm, stated COVID-19 was a hoax. Then had to back track and admit the "China Flu" was real but not easily transmittable and wearing masks is "an over-reaction and stoopid." Now he's going to have to bounce back from having COVID-19 and get back out on the campaign trail having to admit he got it because, well no masks on his team. You don't think that message is going to make him look like the biggest idiot around? If you really think this is going to play well for him you're detached from reality and already part of the cult.

Trump will probably say that Biden gave it to him at the debate as some sort plot.
I have to admit hearing he got it just really made my day, as sick as that seems. lucky I never claimed to be the best of people.
