I can't understand why people would have a problem with a president that mocks anyone with standard ######.
Obama did that all the time, didn't he? Obama bad.

So we've gone from YouTube videos proving 9/11 was an inside job to YouTube videos proving the innocence of a man who was clearly mocking a disabled reporter. Boy are the next few years going to be fun.

Your getting distracted with a non-issue we should ignore the fact that Trump makes fun of
Disabled people.

The standard for Trump based coverage should now be

Is it impeachable
Is it cutting services or disenfranchising millions of people.
Is it a real policy

Otherwise it is not news.

I don't know, I think it's kind of news when the PEEOTUS uses his personal Twitter account to help promote the businesses of CEO's who kiss his ass.

Unfortunately for LL Bean, it's probably going to go the other way with boycotts driving down their sales (does the CEO not realize people are avoiding being associated with Trump like the plague?). But yeah, kind of ridiculous for Trump to be picking companies because the CEO enjoys some orange ass to kiss.

Yesterday's presser was insane, but Ben Carson's HUD confirmation hearing today very likely will surpass it. So far we've had...

In response to questions from Elizabeth Warren, Ben Carson refuses to assure that the Trump won't personally benefit from HUD decisions.

And then he breaks GOP protocol and actually answers a question honestly

Carsons answer was in response to what question? Was it to do with collusion or...?

Providing no context and focusing on a snippet of a quote in a vaccuum is Fox-esque. It's like getting hung up on Obama when he said "you didn't build your business!" Same **** different pile.

The question was: "You will be responsible for billions of dollars in loans and grants. Can you assure us not one dollar will go to the President-Elect or the Trump organization". Pretty straightfoward question. He should have just lied like every other nominee would. But Ben's kind of a simpleton moron in that regard.

Also, Ben had some prepared remarks he was going to give, but then didn't. Might have been because the WaPo figured out they were, of course, plagiarized.

Quote:
Ben Carson, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to run the Department of Housing and Urban Development, has faced criticism from Democrats who ask whether he has the experience for the job. In his prepared remarks to the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday, Carson was supposed to say that his background had informed him on the “strong connection between housing and health,” and cite the problem of lead exposure for young children.

Deteriorating paint in older homes is the primary source of lead exposure for children, who ingest paint chips and inhale lead-contaminated dust. Between 1998 and 2000, a quarter of the nation’s housing — 24 million homes — was estimated to have significant lead-based paint hazards.

Substandard housing conditions such as water leaks, poor ventilation, dirty carpets and pest infestation can lead to an increase in mold, mites and other allergens associated with poor health. Indoor allergens and damp housing conditions play an important role in the development and exacerbation of respiratory conditions including asthma, which currently affects over 20 million Americans and is the most common chronic disease among children. Approximately forty percent of diagnosed asthma among children is believed to be attributable to residential exposures. In 2004, the cost of preventable hospitalizations for asthma was $1.4 billion, a 30 percent increase from 2000.

That text appeared to be lifted word-for-word from “Where We Live Matters for Our Health,” published in 2008 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

But when he appeared at his confirmation hearing, Carson departed almost completely from the prepared text. His remarks more closely resembled his speeches as a candidate for president, tackling everything from how the brain worked to how his experience made him ready to manage large organizations. The dry data from the prepared testimony didn’t get read at all — meaning that Carson didn’t end up reading the lifted paragraphs.

Prepared statements from nomination hearings are typically entered into the congressional record, and according to a Trump transition spokeswoman, the copied text was an error.

“It was a written statement for the record — his oral testimony, as I am sure you’ve heard, is extemporaneous and planned that way,” the spokeswoman said. “The original written statement was sourced with hyperlinks and footnotes, but unfortunately that seems to have fallen off.”

As given to reporters at the hearing, the prepared text had no indication that the two paragraphs had come from another source.

The Atlantic is reporting that Trump's tweet "was referencing a furor that had ignited after reports from the Associated Press last week revealed that Linda Bean, the granddaughter of the company’s founder and one of L.L. Bean’s 10 board members, made a $60,000 donation to a pro-Trump PAC that had far exceeded the legal limit." (emphasis added). Cite: https://www.theatlantic.com/business...oycott/512795/

I don't consider an illegal donation to be the same as kissing one's posterior, but maybe it is the same.

Regardless, I can't say that I thought that LL Bean customers would also be Trump supporters, so I suspect that LL Bean will have a rough few weeks.

Trump tweeting about the dossier:
James Clapper called me yesterday to denounce the false and fictitious report that was illegally circulated. Made up, phony facts.Too bad!

But James Clapper didn't say that, he said that the intelligence community hadn't made any determination about the validity. I also wonder how one can illegally circulate a privately made document. Trump seems to think it's secret intelligence.

Watching Mattis confirmation hearing, I can only assume Trump picked him because he was a general and had the nickname "Mad Dog". Because he seems to be saying a lot of conflicting things to what Trump has said, appears to be calm, pragmatic and totally reasonable, making him of course likely to be the first person fired by Trump.

Okay, time for a conspiracy theory (because I love them): why the FBI didn't fully investigate the dossier:

What's been reported is that ex MI6 spy Christopher Steele gave his findings to the FBI in the summer, but, feeling that the FBI wasn't taking them seriously, started leaking them to the media in October. We have no idea who in the FBI Steele gave them to; a guy like him probably has multiple contacts in every agency. However, we do know who some of his contacts are: in 2010, he met with the New York FBI squad and subsequently investigated FIFA on their behalf as part of the investigation that brought down Blatter. Perhaps he had someone in that office that he trusted with this information. This is the same FBI office with strong ties to Guiliani, and would eventually press Comey to release the half-baked Anthony Weiner email disclosure. If Steele released the document to someone in that office and any further investigation required the approval of one of Guiliani's buddies, it's no wonder it didn't go anywhere.

Funny how not just footnotes and what not fell off but also the quotation marks and mention of the reference directly in the text as one would do when using someone else's work word for freaking word.

Also a coincidence that this seems to happen an awful lot with the trump camp....
