Getting away from absolutely incompetent coaches and organizations.

The most money I’ve personally spent on Flames merch was a custom Bennett shirt so I feel some satisfaction of having believed in the potential back then. Kudos to Greer for pivoting to being a cup winner. I also felt Bobrovsky would have been a great MVP choice this year, he’s insanely good. Anyways, good for 18 yr old Sam Bennett!

They and the team found their roles. Both got away from the high expectations of their drafted team. Reinhart found on a role on that right side of Barkov and they developed chemistry playing a complete two-way game.

If Hartley stayed in Calgary for a couple more seasons this probably wouldn’t have happened. Coaching was the main reason in Bennetts case.

I truly believe it is opportunity and an elevated role.

I think Bennett's TOI increased by 6 minutes after being traded to the Panthers and was on the PP.

Just imagine if the whole gang was kept together including Bennett. Monohan didn't have injuries. And would who was drafted, was brought along too.

I believe the pull-up that never was birthed the chip on his shoulder that's carried his internal anger ever since. It made him want to prove he was an animal. And he has.

Hero. Forever a Flame.

I’ve never changed my avatar from his draft day pulling on the flames jersey.

Way to go Benny.

TBH I'm a big believer in fate.

And honestly at this point it feels like it was a necessary evil and some form of fate for Tkachuk and Bennett to end up in Florida to be the thing that defeated the Oilers.

Sure I wish it was the Flames but we never had a Barkov, Ekblad, Bobrovsky, etc etc to give those two the support needed to win here.

There will always be a bit of "What If?" That hurts a bit, but honestly at this point those two beating the Oilers and keeping them from two cups makes it all worth it.

Fate, maybe. Oilers choose Drai over Bennett, which sets in motion a series of events that will end up costing them two opportunities at the cup.

Or the monkey paw curling? “Flames need a top five pick to win the cup.” Flames’ top five pick wins the cup.

Either way it’s great.

Never would've saw this coming.

No better recipient of the awards for the kid continuously told he wasnt good enough for top line duties, took stupid selfish penalties, had zero hockey IQ, couldn't chin up with a busted shoulder.

Here we are today . BENNY SO SO SO happy for you . Loved his interview stating Marchy were following you . Didn't talk about himself!!!

Thats a leader!!!

Jobs done!!!! Again . And in a dominant fashion . Congrats Sammy.
