The Stars have been able to block a lot of shots. I think that's why there was not only over passing (but passing up clear shots is not ideal) but also some bad angle shots with no traffic so far.
Need to solve that. The patented Gio walking the line and getting his wrister through would be good to see

I would seriously like to know in what way the NHL holds its officials accountable? If I was that bad at my job I’d get fired. Honestly, are they required to watch film? I sure
####ing hope so. What does that ref learn from watching the replay of that exchange? Other than he is incompetent and directly impacted the game as a result of that incompetence. So bad.

Imagine being a prospect for the Flames and watching this game.
How would you feel about being in the AHL or minors when Stajan, Brouwer, Glass and Bartkowski are in the lineup. And the only reason the best prospect got called up was because of an injury to a 45 year old player.

Yeah, I agree, but apparently Gulutzan hates to give ice time to young guys. Based on this game it's soon time to #freejanko. Better someone like Freddie doing press box duties in that environment.

I was thinking about this exact thing today, top 3 lines look good but that 4th line is gets all the love. Bet that doesn't sit well with some players; not just prospects.

Monahan gets crosschecked right in front of the officials with 1:50 left.
The Hamonic hit from behind and then subsequent slash to the dallas players skates penalty happens at 4:41 in case anyone wants to see how awesome NHL officiating has gotten.
Apparently its ok to hit and cross check players from behind but a love tap (albeit retaliation) is ok?

Also, remember Brent’s first year where we started off well...then Brent ripped the team in a post-game presser for not playing the right way, and the team then fell apart and never recovered?...ahem...

Methot had the top of his finger almost cut off by a Crosby slash. That also helped change the slashing calls.
