Same could be said for the hyper partisan winners.

Once again the union brain trust has completely screwed Windsor/Essex. They wanted Jeff Watson out but didn't see the writing on the wall and use their power to vote in a candidate from the government that was so obviously going to win. We are completely isolated now this whole area voting NDP.

when you're range is 123 to 168, then saying a max is 185 (which is basically an outlier) you're never going to be wrong
this is a huge liberal victory, they smashed the competition
when your headline at the 308 is "Likely Liberal victory, possible Conservative upset" you're way off

Liberal polling in the past week:
Oct 11: 34.2%
Oct 13: 35.1%
Oct 14: 35.6%
Oct 15: 35.7%
Oct 16: 36.4%
Oct 17: 36.5%
Oct 18: 37.2%
Not sure why the majority is a surprise. The Liberals were trending strongly upwards in the past week. They peaked at the right time, played it perfectly and the voting public responded.
The polls were indicating this all along.

Voted liberal and already sort of have buyers remorse. Can we have one of the new Calgary lawyer MP's as Prime Minister instead of Trudeau?

I'm pissed about this though, the NDP were a good opposition, Mulcair might have the personality of a carrot but he was a good MP and opposition leader, if anything the NDP are the party that have focused the attention on Harper.
They deserved better, Canada is like the girlfriend that goes back to the ####ty boyfriend who has a nice ride, when she finally gets sick of the psycho that beats her. The NDP is the nice guy next door that gave her a ride to the woman's shelter and took care of the kids.

Let's keep some perspective.
Also, Mulcair is leading in his riding now and is likely to win it

I think people are just trying to have as much fun as possible while they still can, since apparently Calgary will turn into Detroit in 5 years.
Plenty of hyperbole to go around on election night from all sides, as is tradition.

I agree 1000%... The change is just the same. I'm sick of the old boys club, and the NDP would have been a nice slide into subtle and IMO positive change.

This. When it comes to impact on your life your municipal government has the most influence followed by your provincial government. Some taxes will shift around but when everything settles not much will change.

Well it's not like they're ruined or anything. They had to lose eventually.

But the popular vote margin between those scenarios is like 37% to 42%. This is within the margin of errors of polling.
I think your asking too much of polling.

Yeah, this campaign was embarrassing, and a lot of the embarrassment was in our very own election thread. I know some people want to act like we just won freedom and Harper was brownshirting our lives but like I said a few posts ago, lets have some perspective. He started off fine, and his run in power got too long in the tooth and their campaign got ugly at the end, but it was hardly what we see down south.

Terror is dramatic, but the party ignored your rights far too much. Once is too much but it was more than once.
