I am not sure what agenda you are pushing here. You make these broad generalizations with absolutely zero context or thought.
This is exactly what the media does and those trying to support a broad idea that a given "group"- black men, police officers, jews, hispanics, etc are being unjustly treated or that its some sort of us vs. them ideology.
Slow down. Take a deep breath. Put those stats into context.

I have no agenda just stating a fact. Other posters were showing the disproportionate in numbers in black vs whites involving police shootings.
What's your agenda? I know in the police brutality thread you defend the cops a lot .

Nah... I gave up on that long ago. What is the old saying? You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into?

There's nothing wrong with that source of information, at least this article in particular.

Those open carry nuts are ridiculous. It's one thing to have a right, but to flaunt it like that is some annoying ass ####.

EVERY site has an angle. I shouldn't have to explain it.
That site, is full of conspiracy theorists, NWO theorists, etc. Now I am not saying the stat is wrong, I am saying that out of context and for someone looking to support a position, it may not be the most credible source.
Just contextualize the information. ie. when you present a fact that a black man is killed by law enforcement every 28hrs (sorry, too lazy to go back and look), is there thought given to how or why? OR is that automatic conclusion that its unjust and racially motivated?
No different than me posting a stat on how many black men kill black men or asians kill purple, orange or green men.

Looking at the police reaction in those two things...I happen to notice that Ohio isn't Texas. That jumped right out.
That said...the Open Carry folks seem to be a special breed of nutcase, and I doubt that they make anyone feel comfortable with them walking around armed like they are.

It's always the US and it's always guns.
Saw a thing on the BBC twitter feed that the number of times Michael Brown was shot was equal to half the number of all bullets fired by the UK police in one year.

I'm sure it still happens by accident once in awhile...green text. In all seriousness though, police are trained to aim at the centre of mass of a suspect as it is the easiest area to hit and stop the threat. Attempting to shoot limbs would result in many more stray bullets increasing the risk to the general public.
It's desirable but not always possible to have a less lethal use of force option such as a TASER or bean bag shotgun available in dangerous situations and have other members provide lethal over watch with firearms. Example: man brandishes knife, charges at police, police deploy TASER or beanbag rounds however it does not stop suspect, at that point police with firearms would more than likely shoot that individual as he is threatening with a deadly weapon.

Gun comes into play here. You don't mess around with someone with a lethal weapon. You don't try to shoot in the leg. You don't try to taser first.

Well, it's a case by case basis. Many variables come into play, cover, time, distance etc. It's not always an automatic shoot situation.
Edit: likely shouldn't have used "charging" in the situation. Was just trying to provide a fake scenario where less lethal weapons could be used.
