Lamoriello: Devils made Fayne "a good offer" & still want him back, but "might not be able to compete with the numbers that are out there."

We sign Iggy for 6 million and trade him to Boston with half the $ on a 1 year deal for picks/prospects.
That way you get to acquire assets and you get to get closer to the floor without having to add any people to the roster.

Not a fan of that roster at all. More change is needed up front and Niskanen is a pipe dream unless we sign him to Dion type money which is a no go.
Flames need to trade to improve IMO and not overpay UFA's.

Keaton Ellerby not qualified by the Jets.
6'4" kid from Strathmore.
Could see the Flames interested in him, been bringing back lots of hometown kids in the last year and a half.

Another guy I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on, but I just don't know how he would slot in that this point.

They might part with McQuaid. Here's a story on his health:

Ellerby really needs to learn to play like he's 6'4". I watched him during a few preseason games and with the Panthers. He just looks disinterested and lost out there most times. It's pretty telling that the Panthers, Kings and Jets all let him go over the last couple of years.

I would actually like to get lindback as iur backup, I think he has starter potential but is a bit of a late bloomer. He'd probably sign for cheap too

I don't necessarily want to sign a bunch of UFA's as our roster, that'd be pulling a Flyers maneuver. I only want to sign a UFA or two, the rest are slotted with youngsters.

Lindback is only 26 and has good AHL numbers. Worth a gamble IMO

Vrbata and Niskanen/Del Zotto. Maybe Lindback to backup Ramo
Pat yourself on the back and call it a day.

Like your 1st and 2nd choices, cannot say the same about the 3rd.

Ninja edit fail. Wanted to say that I liked the idea of Lindback as well as he may come cheap right now.
I think Del Zotto still has potential.

Lindback was god awful in Tampa. Maybe he can bounce back, but I don't like his chances with his confidence probably at an all time low. I'd rather take a chance on a guy like Jussi Rynnas, who although he played in a lesser league last year, put up some absolutely ridiculous numbers and probably has confidence levels that are through the roof.

I think we can expect deals to start to come down around 10am our time. Judging by past years.
