Not for Shanahan to call but the obvious one that was missed/not called by the refs was Gallagher failing to get an instigator for jumping Conacher in the last 5 mins.

That's an automatic one game and a 10K fine for Thierrien.

Disagree. Would be an entirely selfish play and penalty.

Stupid cheapshot.

Oh come on. The Flames in 04 were the worst at turning games into cluster#####s when they knew they weren't going to win. Claiming otherwise is just crazy.

Elbowing a guy in the head like that (not even part of the play) is not "playoff intensity" it's a cheap shot.

I remember game 3 in the San Jose series got a little nasty at the end but that's the only game I remember getting a little out of hand in the end..What other games were there?

Wasn't that the game where that Russian fellow hotdogged on an empty net goal and Iggy and Simon went nuts?

How is jumping a player not at least a couple game suspension? The level of violence acceptable in this sport is ridiculous.

My favorite was Jamie Mclennan's 2 handed slash. Classic.

There is that Utah soccer referee who died today after being punched in the head by a 17 year old player and falling into acoma.

If a player punched out another player and they died in the NHL, I'm sure the game would completely change. I'm surprised more people are not injured seriously (removing the long term effects of course)

The bourque elbow needs to be suspendable. Its the blatent cheapshot, not part of the play that would be so easy to take out of the game. This is the third one that has gone unpunished this post season.

Perron on Brown
Browns attempt on someone on st louis
And this one.

At least Ferrances was part of a hockey play. The above 3 are just blatent cheap shot.

Nah. A lot of people complained about Bourque's stupid penalties and occasional reckless plays when he was here.

Still, I put all of that stuff into "the guy can't control his emotion levels" category, instead of actual malice. There are a lot worse players out there.

Habs better be careful, looks like PK is losing his #### a little bit. Should make for a good third period.

Ottawa scores

Will be reviewed though, Zinbanejad deflected it off the skate and the blade came off the ice - usually the tipping point
