Krebs has 10 pts in 31 games
Pospisil has 11 in 32
Sharangovich has 8 in 25

If a random 3rd round pick turned into any of these guys, it would be a massively successful pick

Agree but the organization needs to be very selective of signing any UFA’s of note and they haven’t been that selective historically.

No Kidding, the value of a 3rd pick is next to nothing. If you don't count Adam Fox ( who would have gone much higher if he didn't make his intentions clear) the last 3rd round pick of any value the Flames made was Lance Bouma in 2008, or if you want to go further back, Brandon Prust in 2004, Matthew Lombardi 2002, Chris Clark 1994, Sandy McCarthy 1991, Perry Berezan 1983, or the only franchise defining player the Flames have drafted in the 3rd round Mike Vernon 1981.

Yeah, if you didn't need trade/movement clauses to sign players than they wouldn't be all over the league. You think GM's are like "that's cool you're wiling to sign with us for $5.5AAV, we're excited to have you.....oh and I almost forgot; Would you like a 15 team no trade list to make it harder for us to trade you down the road? Here is what i see

Vladar has played 17 games now.

Among those that have played that many or more seems to be a decent starting point as a comparison.

So,

He is 27th of 28 in save%. Better than only Georgiev.

He is 26th of 28 in GAA.

On the same team behind the same defense he gives up .79 more goals a game and saves .27 fewer shots than his stable mate.

Those are "bad" numbers.

Now show me your argument as to why he is "good" and Im all about admitting Im judging him unfairly.

I don't get the constant defending of a guy that is clearly among the bottom performers in the league...but he wears the flaming C so he's off limits?

Nope.

He's playing behind a horrible team with a horrible defence, which has only been kept in games by goaltending most nights. Of course his numbers look like crap. It also doesn't help that he got stuck with debacles like the 8-3 loss to Tampa in which the team simply gave up.

You're underrating both goalies here. Wolf has been absolutely stellar. Vladar has been as good as he should be.

We can’t just move out all of our veterans to make space. We need Coleman, Backlund, Huberdeau, Kadri and Weegar to mentor and keep the room professional.

What we don’t want is what the group up north did and let 23 year olds run the room, especially if we get one or two high picks.

And no we can’t just plug in free agent over the hill veterans to fill that void, a Kadri or Coleman have more respect than a Foligno at league minimum whos a healthy scratch half the time.
