man at 2:10, toews gets away with a 2 on 1 with hossa. however hossa just does something absolutely ######ed and it becomes a 1 on 1, (more like a 1 on 2), though he does score.
Yeah, AI will never be perfect (hence the artificial part), but i think that may have more to do with the strategies.
Doesn't look a whole lot different, but big sweeping changes weren't really advertised. The hits look better, I'm sure the physics are better (didn't really see it in the video though), but the meat of the changes will be the new modes. Looking forward to trying to demo tonight.
If any of you are home and have a European PSN account (PS3), they generally get the psn updates in our morning.
Seriously?? That's f'in garbage. I don't want to play online, I have absolutely no interest in any online features, yet to get a demo I have to drop the cash for it?

I believe because europe got the demo early last year, they get it a day late.
Valo, I think right now you can get a 1 month trial of xbox gold for free when you register a new name.

I am super pumped to hear what the new news is on the BE a GM mode...
I like to do something that I've coined, PURE GM'ing...It is where you build your team like as an authentic GM and Sim or watch all of your teams games, and control the 'Strategy' and 'Line Combinations' but you do not 'Play' in games.
Has/does anybody on CP do this when they play Be a GM mode?
My buddy and I used to do GM mode quite a bit back in the day, on the PC version of one of the older NHL games. We would each take a team from separate conferences and see who could win the cup most in a span of 10 years, without playing any games. It was pretty fun for sure.

If the trend has become that you have to pay for online just to play offline, my gaming days are over. Probably only a matter of time before you need a Gold account to start up your Xbox.

I would assume silver members get the demo pretty soon here? Regardless that's not overly cool. I understand advance demos (Playstation Plus will apparently have that too), but don't advertise the demo coming out on a certain day and then hit people with "oh ... just gold members". That's not rock n' roll.

This is the way a majority of the demo releases work. The demo for games comes out and everyone that has a gold membership can download it. Everyone that doesn't has to wait sometimes a day or two and sometimes a week.

Wow that blows. There aren't a ton of advantages for PSN over Live, but this would be one. Of course who knows what Playstation Plus will do in a years time.
Some quotes from the demo impressions thread on the EA site that caught my eye:

Man, I can already tell im gonna be like a crack feind with this HUT mode. I just spent an hour messing around with my roster and I havent even played the game yet lol. Ill tell you guys right now though. You get to know your team FAST!!! Man I know my team off the top of my head, who Ive got playing with who etc. I also know exactly what I have to pick up off the market. I have too many centers. I need to sell some and pick up some play makers to support all these snipers I got.
This mode is so deep. Impressed.

I got the puck to the defender at the off blueline to make a slapshot, two guys went in front of the net. The first one jumped over the puck when fired, and the other guy deflected it in the net. Pretty cool. Didnt know you could jump the puck

Pokechecks have been fixed. No more pokecheck through players legs. If you try to pokecheck a player from behind, you WILL get a tripping penalty. Also, when you trip a player he doesnt always do the same stupid animation where he dives. Most of they time you trip them onto their knees.

You can actually get good height on your backhanders; they aren't always low.

Hockey Ultimate Team. Not sure who they contracted to come up with that little gem. My guess is that "Ultimate Dynasty" or something similar was just too literal and made too much sense.

One thing that's giving me a lot of hope is the impressions on the EA board. Those guys are generally quite a sour bunch over there and complain about a lot of stuff. The majority seem really pleased.
