So no examples of these negative posts about Honzek in this thread, just baseless BS 95% of my posts are negative and then nothing when asked to back it up.
I "have a reputation" because you can't read what people actually post and just make up your own fake ####.
To make it easy for you my post on Honzek in this thread are saying comparing him to the Jankowski pick was wrong and that comparisons to Smith and Kanzig don't work either. Crazy, out there negative posts. Can't imagine how they are even allowed to stand with how pessimistic they are.
Also added in the Draft game thread that I hope he turns out to be a star. Wowee another negative doozy.

That seems excessive. Why would anyone bother with that if they aren't stealing identities?

This is gonna sound snooty but maybe my 15 years of season tickets sounds more flames fany... Conroy was a fan favorite for a player but I don't owe him that as a front office executive. I wanna see this team win a cup. BT's tenacity last summer gave me hope we had the right person at the helm and now I'm back to being scared of Rico Fata and the young guns

Who still doesn't like this pick?

Ran out of thanks long ago (and ran out for the first time in like a year), so thanks for your tidbits and recaps. I look forward to them all day tomorrow!

Vegas doesn’t win without Mark Stone who might be a good comparable for Honzek.
Last two Cup winners have relied heavily on big skilled guys like Stone and Rantanen.
Draisatl has been killing the Flames for years now.
This is not a safe pick. It’s a high floor and super high ceiling pick. There is nothing more useful than a big forward with skill. Couple more names to throw out there are Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch and Matthew Tkachuk.

His tenacity just paid 28 years young David Kampf 10 million dollars over 4 years. He also has more bosses in Toronto. That whole group signed that contract. Hathaway is Kampf x 2. So twice the player at half the price. That said I would have no problem giving Hathaway 2 a year for 2 years.

Probably not his pick but Tre also drafted a guy in the first round that was ranked in the 100s

When I watch those Honzek highlights, I see a player with a high HQ. He seems to have a knack for spotting and getting to open areas. He also has a great shot from 20 feet out. Kind of reminds me of Iginla in that regard, just being able to pick spots from that far out. He is really good at shooting from tight angles. He also has a great presence in front of the net and goes to the dirty areas.
He has some flash, but not an overly flashy player. What he does is super effective though and should translate to the NHL if he continues to develop.

Very true, guys! Until the game becomes non-contact, size will always be an asset. You don't win with too many Smurfs on your team.

If he's even half as good as Mark Stone defensively, I'll eat my hat. Here's hoping.

The NHL is obviously much smaller these days but the little guys backn in the day had to be tough. They set the stage.
