Expected more from him, but getting injured right at the beginning of training camp didn’t help. He did get solid opportunities to cement a spot in the lineup, once healthy, though. Just wasn’t able to do much with it,

Wish him all the best playing with his cousin in Montreal.

He was a hard worker. He just never generated any kind of offence. Definition of a straight-line, zero-event player. Probably a useful player on a team with less depth than the Flames, like the Coyotes or Habs.

Another whiff by the pro scouts, let’s hope they learn from it going forward.
Well, they haven't had many of those lately, and much more success over the past couple of years: Coleman, Richardson and now Toffoli up front; Tanev, Gudbranson and Zadorov on the bluline. I bet Pitlick's struggles have much more to do with injuries and their timing this year than anything else. It's just unfortunate, and it happens.

There were a couple games where he looked great - not offensively, but just dogging the puck everywhere. I just think he's almost never 100%.

I agree with some of the posters above -- I think he played with jam and the effort was there on the forecheck. He just didn't offer much else when he was on the ice; the injuries obviously didn't help.

Hope he finds some success in Montreal but he wasn't really going to fill much of a role here.

VGK traded a 4th for Brett Howden 5 days before this Pitlick trade.

23 yo 6'3 C from Calgary. 8G 17P in 35 gp this year.

Of course, this was pre-expansion draft and VGK was exempt, but damn.

Yeah, unfortunately you trade for him and you expose Dube which, in hindsight would have been better but we all thought Dube would take a step this year.
