It's close but the fog horn takes the cake. The canucks' dying whale horn isn't far behind that pair too. Some nasty goal horns that match their gross teams in this division.
I actually really like the Canucks goal horn. It sounds "polished" to me, but maybe that has something to do with my coastal residency.

I’m okay with that. Makes the game more interesting and exciting. Having a bunch of ass kissers playing following the rules and “codes” all the time would make for boring games. Almost every other team views our very own #19 in the same way or worse and he’s only played one year in the league. It’s funny how those rose coloured glasses can make the other teams guys d-bags but ours some heroic pest. It’s how some guys make a living sticking in the league getting under other teams skins drawing penalties.

Few comments on the win....
1) obviously great to have the stupid streak come to an end.
2) Our top 2 D pairings are really starting to figure it out. Brodie finally looking like that kid from a few years back, who's amazingly fluid skating and ability to make sharp privots out of trouble . It just feels like both top pairings manage the game on the ice, with the puck being held on and distributed by Giordano or by Brodie. I loved that Hamonic can not only play but also was willing to drop the gloves with Perry. It's that kind of pushback that has been missing in the flames that i think they need to beat the heavy teams like the ducks.
3) Offensively, it was an ok night. I thought it was easily tkachuk's best game of the year. His ability to hold onto the puck along the boards for an additional second or two before passing/kicking it out to an teammate speeding in is a very underrated skill. All lines played reallly well i thought. Though, I am still hoping Bennett can show more contribution offensively. That 2-0 not generating a shot was unfortunate.
4) last but not least, Smith had a great night. How the puck stayed out on the play where he appeared to injure himself, is still a mystery to me.
Great game, and progress shown by this team 3 games in. I actually they have more progress/improvement in them, especially offensively.
Mightily impressed by Smith so far, it’s only been a few games but he’s looked solid. I am on record as despising that move and I’ll happily eat crow should he maintain this form this season. Great win.
Sorry if it’s been mentioned but I had a laugh at the end of the game as the announce team was doing the stars/keys the game bit and they both awkwardly and obviously were trying to avoid saying shutout. That was gold.
All this good vibe around the Flames and Jagr hasn't even taken the ice yet!
I think it was Haynes who pointed out that ever since Jagr blessed the Travelling Jagrs with a signed Flames jersey, the Flames have outscored and outplayed their opponents, with Smith completely nailing the door shut, to a tune of 7-0.

Any clips floating around of the Bieksa headshot attempt on Gaudreau?

I dont care if its the rose colored glasses I'm wearing for Jagr, You can already see a massive improvement with the puck protection the young players are having. Bennett, Tkachuk both look extremely stronger holding onto the puck.
I'll never understand the psychology of players sometimes. These guys have been playing competitive hockey for so many years, but yet they've tuned out teammates and coaches about this important aspect of the same? How can it takes one player to show them how to do that?
Then again it's probably like my boss. I'll tell him something for five years and he won't agree to it. Then he goes out for lunch and someones tells him the same thing and then next thing we know it's company policy.

Last time Bieksa was on the ice at the end of last season, he clearly wanted no part of shaking hands of the Preds in the playoffs, so went up on the forecheck and took a penalty in a scrum with 30 seconds or so left, so he could go early to the room and avoid the line at center ice.
I am sure his thought was more that the Flames wanted the puck for breaking the curse as opposed to Smith's shutout, not that it really mattered to him.
lol yep near the end of the game Ball & Hrudey did not mention shut outs or ending the curse. Not that I noticed.
When they were doing the three keys to the game or whatever it’s called at the end of the game one of the points was Smith had saved 40/40 and Hrudey said “and Mike Smith.....has been great.”

The coaches told them, but they did not persuade them.
