Meanwhile Treliving just sits back waiting for a juicy contract extension and watches his Gulutzan train wreck and they both deny any accountability.

I feel like Montreal was happy to sit on 3 until the Flames showed a slight push.
Then ... slap!

Man, when I was really young my favorite team was the Pens. As I grew up and all my friends were Flames fans a eventually came on board. What a life altering mistake that was .

Yeah, but still a shot from outside, and Johnson had time to be in position.

I can't state specifics, but there were unquestionably some awful stretches under Hartley's watch as well.
That doesn't make this current run any easier to stomach though. It's definitely frustrating to watch knowing they are so much better than this.

Definitely some bad stretches for sure, but no consecutive shutouts. The Flames were only shut out 3 times last season.

It's really easy to bash on the coach when things aren't going well, but that doesn't make all the vitriol being spewed in here true.

Frankly even when they were winning I didn't feel like the top players were playing their best. There have been very few games this year where I thought this team is really coming together. Something has always been missing.
In my mind the top players will be the ones that truly elevate the team and when they are all underperforming, there is an issue.
Its not about bashing the coach out of convenience. Its about believing the coach can be so important that the team needed to do more to acquire an elite coach who understands not only x's and o's but also motivation, confidence, team cohesion.
Trust me I wish I was wrong and he would go on and take this team deep into the playoffs with exciting hockey. But I haven't seen any indication of that.

Flames pressing, 4th line get it out of the zone and another Montreal goal. Too funny.

This is scarier than Resident Evil.
