He has also been really good here. It's no surprise that we had a big season his 1st season here, and he was also a key member to get the team to finally show up in the Dallas series.
It's a shame he will likely be done here by the time this team is competitve again.

I think there would need to be retention in any Coleman deal to see a good return.

Maybe. I just think his value is being undersold.
He doesn't have the hands, but he has everything else.
The top line they had penciled to start that 21/22 season was Coleman-Lindholm-Tkachuk.

Agreed.
Was thinking the other day what a Markstrom and Coleman package to NJ might look like. I don’t think there would be any question your getting 10OA back +

Lindholm was nothing but negative speculation on his value, many posters thought we would have to give him away. Conroy hit a home run instead.

I agree with you Lindholm mid season everyone was crapping on the return but it was the draft last year that had people talking about the Columbus pick, Byram and other high end pieces.
Ultimately this board has it all. The people who think our assets are trash and others who overvalue them. I would say the majority of Conroy’s trades are initially met with groans and people saying we should have got more but usually many of those people come around and accept it was a good deal.
One year into Conroy’s run as GM I am pretty optimistic we are on the correct path and most of his moves have been very solid. I also have no idea what to expect expect over the next month? Does Conny move out more vets for picks, picks for players, both? I could totally see the Flames trading Markstrom, Mangiapane or Andersson and I could also see them trading for Zegras,or Necas or legit doing a combo of both.

I can't stand the guy. One of the wise "regulars" the fan has had in recent memory. He doesn't even seem plugged into anything, like ever. It always seems like he's just guessing or speculating like the rest of us.
And yeah, he's just not likable either. It always feels like Pat has to work harder to make the conversations flow with him.

Umm, I don't like him either but he was pretty bang on with the potential return for Flames players at the deadline. Remember how we all thought he just hated the Flames but it turned out we didn't get a kings ransom for Hanifin?

Markstrom AND Pospisal for the 10th OA? MASSIVE overpay by the Flames

These types of statements are not very well thought out.
Let’s say there’s a player that’s high on the Flames draft list, fits nicely in their organization depth, and is available at 10 on draft day.
I don’t think there’s anyway you can make these uninformed blanket statements without knowing, at a minimum, who they would plan to take with that pick.

My expectation for return in markstrom are a low mid first and second. Valuation puts that somewhere around middle if first round if its just the first. I could see fifteeen to thirty two across for markstrom but top ten is premium.
Dont think markstrom is a top ten valuations but not all that far from it. Dont see pospy and markstrom as an overpay. Top ten is coveted and this deal would have no retention but probably salary coming back but the their is a demand for goalies right now and supply is limited. I would do this deal all day long.

Oh I'm sure he's connected to some degree, he'd have to be in order to be in that postioon. It just seems like he isn't with the way he talks and he often answers questions by asking Pat questions of his own.
But you're right, he was right about that even though I think it was clear to everybody (whether we wanted to believe it or not) that the return for hanafin and for Tanev wasn't going to be what we wanted it to be.
Easily the least likable and listenable of all the man insiders, in my own humble opinion.

OMG they roasted Markstrom into a delicious BBQ product.
