I can verify my sources with Bingo if need be, and there's others on this board who know me off this site too. I try to throw an easter egg where I can within my limits, mainly because I love this board and I love seeing Calgary get built.
I don't owe you #### all, my friend. If you don't want to believe me, I ain't gonna lose one wink of sleep over it.

I think they should make it the shape of a bulls head that breathes fire everytime we score a goal. Have a huge energy ring surrounding the base where the neck is that looks like a lasso. Bam, creative and gives nod to our cowboy heritage.
You're welcome Mr. King. I'll take my million dollars in the form of unmarked bills in a large sack with a money sign on it.

First of all, let's not bash somebody just because they are not giving you the info you want. As mentioned, if you don't like the content of a thread, either offer an opposing point of view (which would be hard in a thread like this seeing as you do not have access to the info), or leave it alone.
Secondly, using the mod tools I have available, I believe Muta has credibility. I can't go any further than that.
I for one appreciate the little tidbits we are getting; please keep them coming as you are able to.

You're just getting people all hyped up for something about to happen only for them to be disappointed.
Obviously, even if you do have insider information, you couldn't actually say anything substantial as you'd likely face legal repercussions and lose your job. But why dangle carrots in front of people's faces and then pull them away?

Unlike you, there others who like what I can provide from time to time in this thread. And, it has become painfully obvious you have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. You simply have no idea.
I think for your own sanity and well-being, you should really put me on your Ignore list. I'm surprised you haven't done that already, actually.

It appears the majority appreciate Muta's information. So in answer to the question as to why he keeps dangling carrots, it's because it's well received and encouraged. That obviously doesn't hold true for 100% of the audience, but it can at least explain to a detractor why he continues.
No harm no foul either way. If there wasn't speculation, nobody would be reading this thread all the same. And if nobody is reading it, we'd all have to go back to work and be productive, and nobody wants that.

Exactly.
Or heaven forbid open up the... gag, federal election 2015 thread.

Isn't there an old Alberta Boot Company location near the core? maybe that's a location?

I legitimately wonder why you feel this would be the case? We currently have a saddle as our arena design, and it's not the laughing stock of the sporting world. We have Western heritage in this city.

Personally, I think it's kind of fun seeing what kind of crazy ideas people come up with from hints regarding socks, boots and the like.

Because that 'rendering' sucks, and is cheezy as all hell.
We do not need to perpetuate a 'western' stereotype into a sporting facility. We are now a modern, world-class city and have grown bigger than that 'western' moniker we used to have.
Look at all the new, major sporting facilities around North America (hell, the world) and you'll see they are constantly setting the standard for modern design achievements and techniques. We should be setting that new bar; not giving in to overused, historical outdatedness.
Also, as far as I am aware of, the Saddledome wasn't designed to look like a saddle; but it was definitely a design acheivement in terms of the structural roofing at that time for 1983. People gave it the 'saddle' term after the fact.

Boots and no socks eh?? Does this project now include a water park equipped with a line wire wakeboard pool?
Just saying that would be pretty sweet. Not as cool as a wave pool that would pump consistent 8 ft barrels but still pretty cool.
Please tell me we are getting a wave tank, that pumps consistent 8ft barrels!!! Please??

I wouldn't mind them incorporating our western heritage into the design in some subtle ways, but designing the entire arena to look like a cowboy hat is just silly.

I'm convinced the reason it's been delayed is because that cowboy hat was the real design, but they saw all the negative backlash/people joking about it and decided to redo the whole thing.

Is it just me, or is the arena quite a bit bigger than the football stadium? That's very confusing.

It's the perspective. The stadium is actually quite a bit further away than you think it is.
There's going to be a field house, entertainment district, parking lots, and Bow Trail in between the two buildings.

What about the tree in the middle, you've got to keep the green tree. It'll be transformative to the city for years to come.
