They seem to have plenty of depth at the position to handle a month long injury.

Matt Murray and Dennis Hildeby? Those are the guys? And if Woll goes down? Then what.

No I don't. But when he keeps coming up as someone you can include on the list it becomes something that you can talk about. I could make a good argument for "Top 10 center" but player? Your list didn't even include players like Makar or Hughes.

We are talking about filling the backup position for a months time. That's only a handful of starts. Either of those guys could comfortably handle that responsibility. If Treliving gives up assets to address that "issue" - then he's more out of touch than I thought.

Akhtyamov is also 8-1-1 in the AHL too.

When you add in that you are trading one of the fastest skaters for one of the slowest, what are people seeing in Kakko?

Agreed. Kakko is a reclamation project at this point. It should be a 2nd round pick + B-level prospect (Stromgren maybe?). That’s basically what Bennett returned.

I am not trading Pospisil for Kakko straight up, let alone adding if it were up to me.

Yeah the only way I'm trading Pospisil is if it's in a package that brings in a legitimate center prospect.

Trading Pospisil for a winger that is only 16 months younger, that has has similar production the last two seasons, and adding a top 64 pick to that makes no sense.

Remove draft position from the equation and Pospisil has easily been the better player the last two seasons, playing on a worse team.

Fans and GMs are always going to look at these top picks who haven't yet broken out with massive intrigue, hoping their team gets them at the right moment. But I too wouldn't be moving Pospisil and a pick for him. 2nd + Poirier.

I'm a huge fan of Pospisil and really believe that if the Flames are patient with him, he's going to be a really solid player in 3-4 years.

The same things I saw with Laf when I was arguing we should trade for him last season Summer he broke out, while people were saying he’s a bust.

We don’t want Kakko for what he’s done in poor circumstances, we want him for the potential upside if we can get him out of those poor circumstances.

It’s exactly what Florida got in the Bennett move after we screwed the pooch with him here.

I’d hope Conroy could pull Kakko from NYR for something like Coleman though, rather than Pospisil.
