One goal, one assist, -7 in the last four games.

Multiple things can be true at the same time. Your right FLA is overall much deeper. Second that McDavid, who has taken a mantle of “best in the world”, has now not influenced a game when it mattered the very most, going on several years now.

A goal and assist in 4GP is great if your on the 3rd line. Dude was defanged and limp when a team built around him needed him the most.

I actually like Skinner and think he’ll be decent once he gets ran out of Edmonton. The pressure on him there has to been insane with the lack of defensive support he gets and the Captain shaking his head in disgust after literally every goal he lets in. He also comes across as a pretty good dude and is one of very few Oilers that wouldn’t have made me wretch seeing hoist the Cup if they had somehow pulled this off… still ecstatic they didn’t though!!!

Reinhart sets a record for most goals scored on an empty net with more than 5 minutes left in the game

Hahaha

Not only that, but those penalties he took to get ejected were on purpose. He didn’t even have the decency to remain on the ice with his teammates. He bailed on them.

I honestly credit Florida for this. You could tell they had a strategy for him and it worked. I credit their defenders and coaching.

It also doesn't help when your coach has to play you 30 minutes a night because the rest of your team is so bad.

Still though, McDavid is an Oiler. And therefore is a loser.

Knob made some odd decisions...switching back between goalies and shuffling deck chairs on the bottom lines looked desperate.

yeah the guy choked big time

Marner gets chased out of town for his performance in the last few games of the Panthers series. If you are the best player in the game you shouldn't be shut down like that

I’m driving home from my Tuesday night shinny in the 17th Ave. area. If I see any soaked Oilers jerseys walking in the rain and I’ll make sure that we’re rolled down the window and laugh at them.

Didn't watch a minute of the game tonight. Totally worth it

Reinhart had 4 goals tonight. Marner has 4 in his last 24 playoff games. One excels the other is a ghost.

Who said anything about Reinhart? you are always looking for an angle
Its just funny that Marner is chased out of town and McDavid was shut down by a great team no fault of his own

played the same team
Marner is gonna do GREAT somewhere IMO. Guy has world class skill, pressure in TO is legit

Missed the third due to shinny but I’ll watch the PVR now. I hope there is all closeup of s***bag Perry’s face immediately after the game.
And POS Kane’s. Oh wait he was in the dressing room already.

It's in no way McDavid's fault.

Whenever a team lacks depth, the stars get blamed for not being able to perform.

You had Barkov, Reinhart, Forsling being hard matched against McDavid because they knew they didn't have to worry about the other lines.

That is two Selke finalists, and one of the best defensive d-men in the NHL. Tough to find space against those guys.

At 5v5 in this series:

With McDavid - 52.0% xGF
Without McDavid - 42.0% xGF

The big thing is they also got PDO'd with McDavid on the ice at 5v5 - 3 GF 8 GA on .873 PDO (.830 save percentage).

But I hope the Oilers media fixates on McDavid being outscored 8-3 at 5v5, blame it on him, and run him out of town.

They’ll be okay.
The Panthers were, in fact, okay just as expected...and it wasn't a particularly close series. The Panthers somehow had the powerplay advantage in just 1 of 6 games, but didn't need it as they cruised everywhere else.

5v5 attempts: 355-291 Panthers
5v5 xG: 17-13 Panthers
5v5 goals: 16-10 Panthers
