If you hate him, click on the ad every time you see it. Get his hopes up, and drive up advertising costs.

Wouldn't that drive up X's advertising revenue by driving up the advertiser's costs?

I imagine it hurts the advertiser more than it benefits Twitter financially.

Do you ask that question of every CP member who’s on Twitter? There are many.

Do the Flames someone make you angry yet you still cheer for them?

I’m there for U.S. politics. It’s great for that.

Sure, he'll only be down by 43.9998 billion instead of 43.9999 billion.

Twitter is still the best platform for rapid news. I love it for sports and canda/us news. I do not read any comments and stay in the following tab only. It is fine for that but the ads are getting a little ridiculous. It will let you block the user but it doesn't really do anything. Typically they are bots and the ad will be back tomorrow. I usually see two or three posts per ad.

It is no where near as good as it use to be though. I have interacted with people, actors in Vancouver before. They are moistly gone now. I chatted with Diedrich Bader quite often but now he is off social media altogether as far as I can tell. It was a unique setup and was bound to die eventually but musk sped up the demise.

Deleting is my recommendation to anyone who tells me that they are unhappy because of social media.

The constant ads are annoying but Twitter doesn’t make me unhappy.

Advertisers pay a (tiny) amount for each click-through. Financially, it's penny in/penny out, with a corresponding loss of reputation for the advertiser.

As mentioned, it's a teenie, tiny amount that Twitter gets but the OP was saying that clicking on the adverts would hurt Twitter.

I see the confusion, but no, I meant clicking on the adds would cost the realtor Moneyguy hates more.

If you are getting informed about US Politics on Twitter, I think you might be doing it wrong.

And what you want to hear

I'm definitely guilty of filtering my sources to my liking.

My engagement on Twitter is essentially zero the last few months. 20 views per tweet and zero replies. It use to be 400-500 views at the minimum. Is this the result of not paying for a checkmark? Who knows.

There are all sorts of accounts on twitter from both sides of the political spectrum. Despite Musk's best attempts to turn it into a right-wing circle-jerk.

I notice a lot of reply threads in X have porn-bait posts them. Not my threads, to be clear.

Do you expect us to believe that "edsgaunch" on X isn't your work?
