It would have been nice if the Stamps dealt him to an Eastern team just to stick it to him but probably not too many teams were high on a flaky guy like him and the word was probably out that he wanted to stay in BC. I would imagine that the DL will be fired up the next time they play the Lions.
I agree I wish they would have traded him to Hamilton or Toronto. I like Newman but I had a problem with his reasoning for his retirement. That was not a personal issue just plain childish attitude. I don't think what kind of job you have. If you quit on your job because you just want to hang around with your buddies is unacceptable. Huf actually gave him a favour in trading him to his hometown.
Oh well I guess like some other posters says, at least we got something for him. I just hope he doesn't play in BC the way he did here in Calgary.

Pierce just cannot throw long. Everything more than 30 yards is a lame duck.

Pierce has zero arm and terrible accuracy. Overthrowing easy open short passes, and tossing up ducks.

Brutal. The punter made a better throw than Pierce has all day.

I don't know why they didn't just run the option play with Reid running to the outside of Pierce for an easy toss...

Bombers lack important skills to ever be a decent football team. They can't find a kicker that can consistently make even easy field goals and nobody on the team can catch the ball. How did that safety not come up with that pic?

LMAO Pierce just drops the ball, just horrible.

I think Wpg would be better with Jyles in at QB.

Good call refs.

That football is a greased pig right now, Dorsey gives it right back to the Bombers...

Buck Pierce starting QB = "We are going to lose but our QB is a hell of a competitor."

Now would be a good time to run the option play I talked about earlier.
