It's true though. You have to improve your stick lift and poke check game. You have to have better position and aiming when doing those things this year. Those players that your facing are better at using control. Granted, many of them are probably playing on classic control scheme.

Did anyone come across any players that tap triangle to challenge you in a fight RIGHT when you are in a clear cut break away? Annoying as hell.

Wow, the lag in OTP is making this game unplayable at the moment. Why doesn't EA anticipate this and get more servers?

2 vs 2 and it lags like crazy. Then I play a 5 vs 5 and it is fine. Stupid.

Well if the host is from germany, then it will always lag. I say seperate Europe and North American players so we don't have choppy gameplay every time there's a European player.

eashl brutal tonight for lag. One game was all i could handle. ugh, figure it out. At least until hockey season starts, then I'll be playing this game about 80% less.

Yeah, the servers have been crap for the past week. The only time I don't experience lag is late at night, like after midnight, but I only play a few games then go to bed. Couldn't even play a 2 vs 2 game, we won 6-2 and I somehow scored on 2 breakaways with the lag delay, but still.

found this on operation sports forum. it tells you how much each upgrade point costs depending on build

http://www.operationsports.com/eashl...75&postcount=1

edit: found another cool table over there.

http://www.operationsports.com/eashl...52&postcount=1

talks about how many XP points it takes to get each attribute to 90. depending on build, you can have weird results.

Quote:
For example, it cost less for a dangler (65XP) to upgrade agility to 90 compare to a playmaker (75XP) even though playmaker starts at a higher attribute (80 vs 75)!

What is the consensus around here about rebounds? It seems to me like its a little too easy to get the opposing goalie to spit out a nice juicy rebound. Maybe something that we will see toned down somewhat in a future patch?

to me the rebounds aren't a big deal, its mostly the fact that the computer can easily put them in. human players don't seem near as likely to put them in. maybe that will change though. i think the rebounds create more scoring chances. it also encourages real hockey. instead of people/teams just trying to score cross crease the whole game.

I think rebounds were a little under-represented by previous versions of the game.

The defenses seem to do a pretty good job of boxing out against rebounds on be a pro. And its realistic, as a defenseman I'm always trying to shoot low pad to generate rebounds especially on the powerplay.

What I really like is that the game as gotten a lot better about parking players in front of the net for tip ins.

I like the rebounds, but some users overly abuse them. In one of my OTP games it was 2 vs 2. Me as RW, partner as RW. They had a human goalie and a LW. Everytime there guy would rush in, he would go over the blue line, and shoot for a rebound. He scored twice because of this. 2 times doesn't seem like much, but it ruins the game when that is all you do, his computer scored both times for him.

I myself find rebounds difficult to get in. They always seem to skip over my stick, or my guy ignores them completely. That is why when I am defense I shoot low for a big rebound, then tap RB like crazy so the computer shoots, because more times then not, he'll score (if he's there). When I play with human teammates we don't get as many rebound goals because, like I said it skips over the stick/your guy ignores it, but the computers always seem to score with them.

My only goal was a result of a rebound chance. Held down vision control (L2) and kept fiddling with the right stick.

I like the game but at the top 2 difficulty levels what frustrates me is the computer does things your players can't or won't. For instance, when I rush up the ice they play their positions, clog centre ice and play a tight box in the defensive zone. In contract, my D like to forecheck and run around blind in the defensive zone.

Their players forecheck hard, always seem faster and win more bounces and get more rebounds than my players do. They also get away with more sticklifts and hits without penalties. I like the game but am starting to believe that higher difficulty levels simply mean the computer can cheat to make it harder and you can't.

It kinda does on All-Star with the difficulty adjustment slider. You'll have to crank it all the way down to have no CPU speed boost.

i had a weird thing happen to me about a week ago, I was playing in my dynasty in my own end, the cpu poke checks and the puck goes over the glass and I get a penalty. I was already shorthanded...
