I think this city is just horrible when it comes to girls (Not speaking about Mango or Firefly) but when I've travelled to other places they just seem nicer, easier to get along with and talk too.

Bullcrap. There are plenty of nice girls around Calgary that aren't caught up in nightclubbery and getting the sugar daddy treatment (but there are plenty who are).

Might I suggest looking in places that your ideal girl would go? I mean, don't look in bars if you don't like the bar flies.

And also, don't forget that even 'nice, down to earth' girls need to get dressed up and go dancing once in awhile. And getting the princess treatment is just a cherry on top.


So yeah, you want to meet other types of girls? Get a dog and take her to a dog park and then find some hottie with a cute dog and invite her out on a hike.

Or how about prince's island park for a a little frisbee or hack? Accidently bounce the disc of the back of her noggin and then apologize profusely. On second thought, just land the frisbee a few feet away. Then make a joke while picking it up. If she makes eye contact and laughs, don't stop until you have her phone number.

Here's a pretty good way to differentiate the barbies from the more practical girls... Highheels. Look at her shoes. If she's wearing spikes on a lazy saturday afternoon, in a place that regular shoes or sandles should be worn, she's probably a princess.

I'd like to chime in on the poll. I voted for 'find another hottie to ask out'. I voted this for two reasons:

a) she said no, and cited her boyfriend as the reason. No need to break it up. She knows you dig her and trust me, she won't forget unless she wants to forget. Assuming she won't forget, she'll let you know when she's back on the market (even if she hasn't exactly broken up with her boyfriend. Yet).

b) In my experience, when I've got a girlfriend, for some reason it brings on more female attention. Kinda funny that it's more difficult to meet women when single, but for me, it is.
So just keep on going. Maybe a frivolous relationship might scare the object of your desire to take a run at you.

A lot of guys here are way too hard on the bar girl. Contrary to CP belief, many girls at the bar are normal down to earth girls. Sure there's some that are a different breed, but normal girls go to the bar too.
Perhaps you guys need to stop only looking at the ones on the speakers with no clothes on (I know it's hard).

I look at it this way...If you meet them on the dance floor and hit it off, it means nothing. If you meet at a table, on a patio, anywhere where you can hear each other speak...it's no different than meeting them in a coffee shop, library etc.

I've made it a rule to never ask out or hit on serving staff. Waitresses, etc. They're job is to pretty much milk you for a tip, and plenty of them will stoop to some pretty skanky antics (not all, but some), so by default I'd never hit on one.

Someone you see often, will see them again, and again, and again.. Not a work colleague, lets say... A lifeguard at the pool you swim at?

So assuming you chat to them regularly, they're friendly, you think they'd probably say yes.. But is it wrong to do that to someone at their work? I wouldn't have a problem being shut down. It's happened before, will happen again, it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, but if it did for the other person?

Ah but you have to play it right. It also depends on how much you want her because one of the three parties involved is going to get their feelings hurt. I would not tell her that you can't hang out with her, that makes you look bad you lose points for that. Just become scarce. I don't know how often you guys hang out but reduce it, make it a treat to hang out with you. Or get really drunk with her and sleep together, that'll throw a wrench into her relationship. The girl I talked about on the last page broke up with her boyfriend on Monday night and my last girlfriend also had a boyfriend when I met her(that one was easy her bf was a huge asshat). I apparently am attracted to other people's girlfriend.
