I was fully expecting him to do it this morning after Canada retaliated. Instead he just blathered on about his usual stupid bulls***. "They're treating us unfairly, blah blah blah..."

is the commonwealth still a thing? Like would a war on Canada be a war on Great Britain? Would king charles need to ready UK's nukes?

So you want us to be tough, and we stand up for our industry using protectionist measures, and all you can care about is access to cheese in a can? You have no rational consistency in your arguments.

Well it's a war on a NATO country, so technically all NATO countries would be required to help defend us. Which means the US would either have to withdraw from NATO or punch themselves in the dick repeatedly. And I'm not sure even dumb Donny is dumb enough for that. Though that may depend on how big of A Russian asset he is at this point.

Here's what I think should happen if you want a true Team Canada approach.
Every Canadian retailer, Grocery store etc starts labelling Canadian goods, where there is a competitive American good, the American good gets removed from the shelf, put in a box and shipped back to where it came from. All Canadian companies in retail should cancel their distribution agreements with American companies. This will cost Canadian jobs, ie with people working for Coke and Pepsi, but its a big shot.
Every American owned retailer will be forced to fly an American flag in their windows, as their profits are going back over the border.
The Liberals have to put a halt to their leadership race, its not the time, they can either have all the candidates agree to stop it for the good of the nation. Or they can have the top two, Freeland and Carney have one debate within the next 3 days and a online vote immediately afterwards or put a stop to it, and state that Trudeau is the leader for duration of the emergency or his government being in power.
The house has be be recalled this week, and a throne speech specific to this crisis has to be read in. However prior to that Trudeau, PP, Singh and the Bloc leader have to agree to put their ego's aside and meet for as long as it takes to come up with a plan for the tarrifs and a throne speech, the contents of the plan have to be agreed upon by all 4 members. So that the throne speech passes. This speech will specifically include all Canadian counter tarrifs by phases and reasons to enact. And also what to do with the Tariff money, what a relief plan will look like to the dollar and who will manage it and a agreed upon plan for engaging the Americans and getting them to the table. If these leaders cannot agree unanimously, then the Liberals can read their throne speech and we can have a confidence vote. The house will also authorize the RCMP to gain additional funding with the purposes of shutting down Fentanyl super labs in Canada beginning Right the F now. Canada's 1.3 billion dollar border commitment over the next 3 years will be reworded to read Right the F now.
The "US Canadian relations council" which generally hasn't done much will be reconstituted, no more hey you were on dragon den your in. This council will include and not be limited to.
Stephen Harper, Rona Ambrose, Jean Chretien, Mark Carney, Tom Mulcair. At least 2 non Partisan economists, etc.
Canada will withdraw their ambassador to the US for consultation, Canada will also inform the Americans that they will be reducing the number of US personal at the US embassy.
Canada will reach out to Lochheed Martin to inquire on a emergency shipment of F-35's to show a commitment to defence.
Our 4 leaders will immediately create a resource council to study how to build a Energy corridor from the West Coast to the East Coast with a crash emergency status.
Our Foreign Affairs Minister will immediately fly out to meet the head of the EU to inquire about free trade opportunities. She will also invite the leaders of Mexico to Canada to discuss border security, and also to discuss how we can help each other in replacing any American goods that either side is purchasing. This summit must happen in the next 2 weeks to show a united front with the Americans. Canada can invite other nations that America is economically attacking as observers with the potential of creating a counter alliance at a later date.
Canada will also inform Donald Trump (and I hate this idea), that if he increases any of the Tariffs, Canada will immediately go into maintenance inspection mode for any electricity, Oil, and Gas, and that Inspection will take place from March 1st to March 15th.

With the G7 slated to happen in June in Canada, could they just tell Trump to stay home?

Not a chance.
However I do think that security which is already heavy is going to move to insane mode.

You should change your name to Birmingham. If you and MegaErtz are smart enough you can get an American visa and go work there.

Is that a joke? Cheese from the US is like 50 different shades of unripe marble cheese.

CaptainCrunch you're doing too much. Jean Cretien is 91 years old. Putting flags in retails windows? Canadians work at Bath & Body Works stores. And while you want to identify American stores you're going to Lockhead Martin, a giant American company and going.. bro.. got any emergency fighter jets?
Suspend the leadership race? Oh boy. No.

He certainly won't be getting a warm welcome if the tariffs are still in place by then. It would be amazing if the rest of the G7 dis-invited him and collectively told him to go f*** himself.

I'm going to lockheed martin as a sop, so to speak.
I feel bad for Canadians working for US retailers, but give the Casual Canadian a quick snap shot to choose. It could also pressure some of these US super retailers to maybe pressure up the chain on their US political donations.
Like I said its just musing.
You could replace Jean Chretien with Paul Martin, I like him better anyways. But the idea is to set some serious people involved on the ground that have political stroke.

Ask me before the tariffs if I agreed that the price of Quebec dairy was wildly out of “market” as they dump millions of litres of milk all the time to control price.
After the tariffs I will happily buy Quebec dairy. Are we a country or not?

Sorry why can’t we uninvite Trump? What’s the point?
Even if you make a deal with him it’s meaningless.
