Lucic is a great guy. I hope the player goes out while on top. There is nothing more pathetic than watching a guy try and milk a couple more years out of the game when they clearly cannot get it done. The smart thing is to recognize when that time is as a player. This is a high point in a season of low points. Use that high point and go out on your terms, not be forced into retirement by a string of PTOs. Lucic can now go out with some success or he can try and go out full Tom Brady. I'd like to see him retire on top and with some grace.
Time and place.

This is a terrible point.
If the dude wants to play hockey and someone is willing to give him a job and pay him - then go nuts. Why would he possible care what some fan on a message board thinks about his legacy?
And 2 weeks after he retires everyone no will care about the back half of his career and just celebrate the good he brought to the game. Did Jagr ruin his reputation by hanging on for those few games with Flames? Outside of Flames fans most people have probably forgetten he ever even played here.

Calling him Sutters pet is not an insult to the player.
Chasing him and finding what his family is posting on Twitter is garbage.
You can dislike the player coach whatever all you like but going after them on social media is dumb.

Wow. Brady had literally one bad season and then retired for good (so far). He was the Super Bowl MVP the season before lol. If you think Brady coming back for one more year to see if he still had it after winning SB MVP was "milking it" then... I honestly don't even know what to say to that.
Edit: Also, Brady's "bad final season" still saw him throw for 4500 yards and 25 TDs (3rd in the NFL in yards and 8th in TDs). Not to mention he also had a 66.8% completion rate in spite of his receivers almost leading the league in dropped balls. not bad for 46 years old!

And in that "bad" season, led the league in completed passes.

Great tournament for some Sabres young players, Quinn and Krebs both having major roles for Canada and winning gold, and Peterka one of the best players in the tournament and a historic silver for Germany. Great experience for those guys!

He didn't say anything bad about him as a person, in fact he said the opposite. I mean going out as a champion of any sort is a pretty amazing accomplishment. If you want to take this approach there are way more posts on this message board that attack players, including Lucic.
He has accomplished most everything in his career short of an Olympic medal, made his pile of treasure and now can ride off into the sunset with a gold medal around his neck, carrying one of the chalices from the Raiders of the lost ark that they use as a trophy.

I am kind of curious if there were any potential free agents that stood out in this tournament that might be worth taking a shot on.

He told him to quit, in a moment of triumph for him and his family. That sucks.
And no, it wasn’t the worst example. Obviously.

He didn’t? He said he was worst player on the team, he also used the word pathetic, and said Lucic had nothing to offer. The guy just helped team Canada win a medal. Lucic is being a leader, the players and the fans are proud of his and Team Canada's accomplishments.
Not sure what you are defending.

Unless I missed something that doesn't seem like an offensive message in the least. I don't see how that is an offensive opinion to have.

Keep looking; Meanwhile let's stay on topic and celebrate team Canada's win! Nothing wrong with cheering for our Calgary Flames, and if Lucic wants to continue playing he has earned it.

Lucic is old news. I'd rather discuss Weegar and how exciting it is having him locked up on our first pair long term.
