Khudobin has actually been better than Markstrom the last three seasons and it's not just a "playoff run". The concern with Khudobin is age.

HDSV%: 0.832%
MDSV%: 0.917%
LDSV%: 0.968%

Markstrom:
Minutes: 9564
SV%: .914

Khudobin hasn't been a starter but has better numbers across the board, and could make a real nice tandem with Rittich depending on his cost.

If you need to go 7 years for Markstrom but can get Khudobin for 2 years then Khudobin is probably the better option.

Makes sense that the Flames and Oilers would be more willing to go long-term than the Canucks. The Canucks are grooming Demko to be their #1. The Flames don't know if any of the goalies in their pipeline will ever get there and don't have confidence in Rittich to be a #1. I'm okay with going 7 years at 5 AAV, although I'd prefer 5 or 6 years even if it's up to 5.5. If the Oilers do that, it will continue to leave them with major holes, and Markstrom will burn out like every other goalie that goes there.

I didn't realize Crawford was 35, assumed he was like 32, but mostly because Crawford is a better goalie in 2020.
