Gaskal, you're our only hope! Save what should be a glorious post game thread from the goalie debate!

lol, the only thing obvious is your bias against Smith.

Anyone who has chosen to not pick sides when it comes to the goalies knows that Smith is one of the team's whipping boys. Sometimes it's deserving like the fourth goal but other times it's not.

So hockey is a team game. 6 wins by a goalie are 6 wins by all 20 guys dressing.

Rittich is, what, 8-3-1 and has lost 1-0 and 2-0. He has let in 4 goals once, in a 4-3 OTL

Anomoly: Peters did pull him in Columbus, and yet Smith also let in 3. That game was weird

There is really no compelling case against Rittich at all.

Strange quote. Either this is deadpan sarcasm or the team really should have other ways to find that out.

Unless it’s a blowout win, the PGT is full of so much negativity win or lose. The ATL by Gaskal is the highlight of the thread and the only reason I hang around.

Had my own game tonight so missed the third. Looked at my phone before hitting the ice and it was 5-3 with four minutes to go. So was mad for our game. And I played crappy lol. Got back into the room and looked at my phone again and 6-5 in OT and turned my frown upside down!

Oh and:

NSFW!

Pointing out what is obvious to anyone watching and is backed up by very real statistical evidence is not bias. I was one that actually thought he was an ok option going into this year. It’s just so clear that that position was really stupid. I just can’t believe there is a single person still defending him. He’s not an NHL level starter and he is not a whipping boy. Was Brouwer a whipping boy? Maybe you think he was? in my opinion he was just terrible on this hockey team and pointing that out had nothing to do with a bias, and the team showed that they agreed by buying him out. Smith is much worse for this team than Brouwer ever was, given the weight of the position with surrounding high caliber talent around him. He can’t be the regular starter, regardless of whether Rittich is the guy. If he isn’t then you find someone else. But it can’t be Mike Smith.

This guy pretty much nailed it spot on LOL. The turn over happened at 25 seconds and they didn't start Giroux.

Quote:
Hak got his point!

Now to send the wrong players out in 3 on 3 OT to turn the puck over in the first 20 seconds & lose.

This was an interesting comment, something many said about GG's system as well.

"I have been observing something of late. Many people seem to note that we are a slow hockey team which fascinates me as we have some damn fast skaters. I am now convinced that it is our system that does this and not the players themselves. We win a lot of races against guys that are super fast, but we play this lateral game all the way down the ice until we can do our corner pitch and chase to get the puck up to the points.

It’s just a ####ty ####ty system."

Disappointing post, even when fans are frustrated they should never hope that players get injured. I have never understood why fans would cheer for injuries to players on their own team.
