so we traded Bouwmeester AND Iginla for 1 second tier prospect (Poirier) and 4 AHL level prospects and Berra who was the best of the bunch (actually played in NHL) who turned into a 2nd round pick -- Hunter Smith. and yet that started our rebuild.

Also Tyler Biggs was actually gotten with Anahiem's pick That cost the Leaf's Bostons #30 (Rickard Rackell) pick plus a 2nd rounder (John Gibson).

Dallas has a ton of good defensive prospects beyond Honka.

Calgary could end up getting a prospect that is not far away and has higher upside than what Russell is. Johns, Backman, Lindell, and Hansson are all high quality prospects. Never mind guys like Honka, Nemeth and Jokipakka.

Nemeth and Johns are more defensive minded guys, they have another guy Aaron Haydon that fits that mould as well. The others are all two way Flames type of D-men in the same genre as Kulak/Andersson/Kylington/Hickey.

Oh god. The smug.....THE SMUG!!!! It'll be insufferable here FFS. They way they idolized Shinaruk here was crazy. Getting Nich in those teal unitards will be exponentially worse.
