Don't talk crap to the ref. Holy smokes, you're taught that in Atom. Keep your cool. Totally avoidable and not the ref's fault.

Congrats to Finland, full marks for that win and now guaranteed a medal for the first time in 8 years.
I hope they beat the Swedes and capture their first Gold since 1998.

These guys have an opportunity to win Bronze for themselves and their country. But ya know what? Every single player on Team Canada would rather have a plane ticket right now.

I'd rather the "Only gold is acceptable" mentality of Hockey Canada than the "Just being there is good enough" mentality the Canadian Olympic Committee adopted prior to 2010.

I agree on the first. On Drouin's penalty, can't argue it. It's a bad rule, but it's a zero-tolerance rule and the referee doesn't have the benefit of replay.

Talent for sure and throughout the Tournament as well. They play 10 times Canada likely wins 9 times.
Today I thought the teams were played fairly even but Finland got the breaks from the bounces and calls. Canada also failed to show up so Finland gets the win.

The problem is not talent but poor mental preparation. Hard for a bunch of kids to respect the opposition when they've had smoke blown up their arses for years about how good they are, generational talents etc. and Canada only has to turn up to win. The coaches of the other nations have an easy job to motivate their players; stuff the Canuck hype and arrogance down their throats and show case yourselves to the NHL scouts.

Agree. They spent the whole tournament yapping at the refs and the average 6 year old knows that won't accomplish anything.

Wow I wish you were this much of a homer when it came to the Flames.

Got to give congrats to the Finns. They played the game the right way from the puck drop and when you do that, the bounces tend to go your way (and if they don't it doesn't have much effect of the outcome). I'll be pulling for them to beat the Swedes tomorrow.

Felt like I was watching the Flames play there with the way Canada took the puck to the net and couldn't get a shot through. Ugh.

Canada finished top 4 for the 15th year in a row and people are questioning how Hockey Canada does things and saying there needs to be changes?
They also do this with their top guys missing year after year.
Its frustrating to see Canada lose but Canada easily wins this game with this team more often than not. Hard to fault Hockey Canada for 17, 18 and 19 year olds failing to show up for a game. You are always going to get wonky results with kids this age.

SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
Trying to make the perfect play. Just get pucks at the net. There's a reason Phil Esposito scored 70 goals in 1971. He shot the puck!
Some really bad bounces, some mediocre performances by Canada's best players and a decent effort by the Finns=loss.

Not going to pile on Moon here but the comment that the teams played even today just isn't accurate.
Finland led scoring chances 10-3 after two periods - haven't seen the numbers for the 3rd but bet Finland outchanced them in that period too.
An even game suggests that it could have gone either way. Not true. Total domination by Finland today.
