Usual post from Moon, but the Isles do suck they don't impress me at all. Their idea of playing hard along the boards is punching and crosschecking the opponent repeatedly. They were very fortunate Fleury went into moron mode or this game would have been a walk for Pittsburgh.

Weird game.

The Isles had a crazy crowd behind them, huge shorthanded momentum goal, huge tying goal by their best player. Out hit, out skated and generally outplayed Pittsburgh. Yet Pittsburgh still won.

Pittsburgh's Defence was horrid one through six and Fleury was his shaky self.

I've been underwhelmed by Iginla so far, but it does look like he is bearing down a bit more. It was a good move to take him off the point on the PP with the isles counter speed. He's still not a good match with Malkin, but I don't see the Crosby line being dismantled any time soon.

There were about 50 things in the game that I saw being let go. The Refs called the regular stuff like hooking and holding, the cheap stuff they just let happen on both sides. The play on Crosby was really obvious they call that every time.

Carkner hitting Cooke in the face with his stick from the bench for example. Yeah, Cooke retaliated, but how the hell are those off setting calls?

but that one wasn't let go, as Carkner got two minutes for that, didn't he?

Exactly. On another forum the river of tears are flowing saying Crosby took a dive, Refs handed the game to the Pens blah blah. Good grief if the roles were reversed and Pitts didn't get called on a hold like that, the outrage would be ridiculous.

Cooke didn't deserve a penalty, he got it because he's Cooke.

Absolute about which team?

I have said the Pens have major issues so not so absolute about them.

When it comes to the Isles watching them outside of Tavares they are crap. If they were in the West no chance they make the play-offs.

If that is absolute it is only because the Isles have crap talent (outside of Tavares) so it is an easy assessment to make.

When it comes to teams like Ottawa and NYR not nearly as absolute because those teams are good enough to win their series and yet inconsistent enough to lose the next 2/3 games straight and go out.

IMO, Chicago St Louis Anaheim and LA all look considerably better than the Pens in these Playoffs. Early yet, though.

I think the Isles are playing great hockey, and are holding their own against a stacked Penguin team. The excitement in their fans reminded of us in 04...a deafening experience in the stands.

I still don't believe teams like the Isles, Leafs or Sens would have made the playoffs if it were an 82 game season....but good on them to make it in a shorten season.

Pretty happy Iginla is putting up points for me in the playoffs..hopefully he keeps going along with the team.

Iggy is second in playoff scoring behind Malkin

Would really like to see the Pens switch to Vokoun. Fleury has looked really shaky to me in spots and imo Vokoun has outplayed him as of late.

Good to see Iggy continuing to put up points. Glad he got his first goal today.

I think people are really underestimating the Isles... they finished the season on a terror. I'd take them over about 4 of the Eastern Conference playoff teams

Just can't bring myself to pull for the Pens. Sure it would be nice to have Iggy win a cup but the Pens are stacked and have recently won a cup.

Always more fun to see the underdog win. Hope the Isles can at least continue to make it a close series.

I don't think I've ever seen so much vitrol thrown at players and teams, as we've seen from moon this past week. It's getting absolutely insane. How many of his posts are about players or teams being "garbage" and "crap"? The guy just doesn't let up, and he seems to think 90% of the NHL is just garbage. It's the oddest thing.
