Feaster: we are going to have cap room. A position to look at other options for next year.

Crazy. Iginla and Bouwmeester gone, Kiprusoff soon to go next. I'd imagine Tanguay/Cammalleri don't want to be a part of a rebuild either, especially Tanguay considering his age.
Calgary is in full rebuild.
As for the return on Bouwmeester, it is a decent return unlike the Iginla trade.

We get a first rounder no matter what, so not too bad either way. Won't be as low as the Penguins pick either.
Now we can easily bundle a couple picks together and move up in the draft and get players we so desperately need going forward.

I remember one poster last week said that NTC/NMC have never come back to bite the Flames in the ass.
Well this week we have seen two examples, Iginla especially, where the NTC/NMC really reduced the Flames potential return.
Again, that is why I don't like how Feaster randomly gave Sarich a NTC.

The Flames owners have pocketed all our money.
All the tickets, jerseys and heroine beer we bought.

I would say get used to it (conditional firsts) - the introduction of the lottery means we are now going to see big value differences between lottery and non lottery picks. And conditionals will become more frequent I would wager.

Flames scouts couldn't decide which was the best European goalie not in the NHL, so they got them both.

So much for the hope that the Flames ownership would retain some salary to improve the return.

Did Feaster mention Glencross on TV as one of the players going forward? I missed some of it and did not jear his name.

Who here as said they will be sure-fire NHL'ers?
Even the guy who replied to didn't.
Just admit you're ignorant of these players, being emotional about it, and move on.

What's the condition on getting the first? Is it gonna be that they make the playoffs? Makes me nervous on this conditional pick thing cuz what if Jbo is really jinxed anthe the Blues actually don't make the playoffs in the very last game?

And who exactly is saying he'll make the NHL. People with some familiarity with the players are outlining what they know about him. I don't see anyone saying "this guy is making the NHL".
Show me how many posts that say he'll make the NHL.
You however are outlining precisely what you think will happen - on what basis?

I guess Feaster really wants Kipper to accept trade. He expects both Euro goalies to play next year.

Dunno if that applies to Drouin and MacKinnon, who seem like they'd be able to adapt alongside other skilled players like anybody else.
|
I believe they expected to be separated. However, that draft was a sea of crap and everyone knew it. Trading into the top 5 of 1999 is a wholly different proposition than trying to trade into the top 5 of 2013.

Halak hurt in St. Louis' game today. So that's good or bad depending on which years first round pick you guys would rather have. IMO that's terrible news unless they recall Allen and he goes on a tear.
