Yeah, that's a shame. I've always really liked Dawson. Leaves us pretty thin at CB I think with Bassong now gone to Norwich.

I think Gallas will stay now if Daws leaves
Kaboul/Verto/Caulker/Gallas
that's a solid 4 and no one outside Gallas with an injury history

Sunderland made an offer for Adam Johnson which he was thought to be keen on but Liverpool and Spurs have also asked City about him (no bids yet) which has stalled the Sunderland move for now

just to update this
BBC says Spurs are paying Ade 80k a week while City are paying 95k a week, for the entire 4 year deal
paying almost 4m pounds per year, for 4 years, for someone to not play for you....

Wonder if it is too late for Chelsea to recall Courtois from loan at Atletico Madrid. He's a bettter goalie than Cech right now even if he is only 20

Wolverhampton looks set to sell Steven Fletcher to Sunderland for 14m and Matt Jarvis to West Ham for 10m ... wow. Not bad.
And Wigan has apparently accepted Chelsea's fifth bid for Victor Moses.

more to that
Quote:
Now Rodgers, who worked with Real boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, believes a deal is imminent for Sahin to go on loan to Anfield instead.
"Hopefully in the next 24 hours we will get some confirmation on that," said the Liverpool manager after his side's Europa League win at Hearts.
"It's quite far along. He's a very good footballer."

Haven't been in this thread for a while but holy *#%^ what a day for Sunderland fans! Johnson is a huge coup and one of the biggest signings in club history, and Fletcher should bang in a good few goals. Johnson's been one of my favourite players since his Boro days so to see this finally happen is crazy.. Can't wait to play the mags!

I hope Rooney's fine ... that gash looked really nasty, Rodallega's boot sliced his leg. Otherwise a fine performance by Rafael and Kagawa today. De Gea's brainfart made imore nerve-wrecking than it had to be. Fine strike by RvP.

Norwich and QPR, the two clubs that were bent over the knee and spanked last week, drew 1-1. I think that Norwich was the better team, and QPR's goal was a soft penalty, which was then saved and off of the post, and then put in by Zamora who encroached a good 4 yards before the ball was kicked. So that's unfortunate. But a point is a point and a good recovery from the asss whupping last week. It was so disheartening to wait all summer for the season to start and then be handed that pile of turd last week.
I haven't seen Rooney's cut yet, but on Twitter people are saying it was pretty nasty.

And definitely worth mentioning is that our Canadian Simeon Jackson scored early for Norwich and continued in the game until 85 minutes or so. His pace really helped put pressure on the QPR defenders and playing two up front was MUCH better that stranding Holt up there and trying to get the ball up to him.
Junior Hoilett, QPR's Canadian who doesn't know if he's Canadian yet, didn't really stand out in this match. I'd still like to see him make up his mind and declare his international status with Canada. I was surprised when he signed for QPR quite frankly, as I imagined him being able to get onto a better club.

I'm growing really impatient with de Gea's air defense into his box.
He too easily punches away catchable balls, and in the last few minutes there were two instances where both Carrick and Vidic should have been assisted by de Gea's hands.
He's too timid & apprehensive. Miss the days of Schmeichel and VDS who would OWN their air space.
Lindegaard has been solid since his injury, I give him the next start.
