Nope, and found during an investigation about something completely different. Basically someone saw something and thought "huh, I wonder if this has anything to do with that other thing, maybe we should check it out", and by check it out he totally meant give his boss the opportunity to release a cryptic and misleading letter to help out Republicans in tight races instead of being responsible and holding a press availability where questions could be answered clearly since the election is only 11 days away and could clearly be influenced and that would be bad from a supposedly non-partisan organization.

Good. The "she's running away with it" narrative was the worst thing possible for her. It artificially suppresses votes because people then don't bother to show up or vote 3rd party because they "can afford to". Keep saying it's close and get the vote out

Yup. If they still have anything remotely damaging about Trump, I assume they'll drop it within the next couple of days. I think they'd probably want to wait until at least Monday to see how long this email thing sticks around in the news. If the emails turn out to be nothing, they'll hold off for a few days.

Speaking of controversies, whatever happened to the "Trump not releasing his tax returns" thing? Seems like it's completely disappeared from the news lately. Have the Dems given up on that line of attack?

There's too much from Trump for anything to stick in the news for very long, everything gets pushed out by something new so nothing has time to stick around or sink in.

I realize that, but I'm just surprised the Clinton camp hasn't brought it up recently. There could potentially be things uncovered in his tax returns that are likely worse or just as damaging as anything the FBI finds in Clinton's emails.

So what? They don't have them so all they can do is speculate. Which they have, and it's basically gotten them nowhere. Best hope now is someone leaks them, but otherwise he's never releasing them so it's a non-story.

I think it was just a few days ago Clinton said in a speech again that she thought that the reason Trump doesn't release them is because he's hiding something.

But yeah they don't try and keep the spotlight on themselves and be the centre of attention while attacking Trump, and I think that's on purpose. Pretty much the entire campaign whoever's been the focus in the media has done worse in the polls, so Clinton's strategy seems to have been run pretty quiet while Trump damages himself.

Regardless, in a few hours it's gone from FBI Reopening Investigation -> FBI Reviewing New Emails -> FBI Reviewing New Emails Not From Private Server.
Seems more like a slow news cycle trying to fill the void. I wouldn't be surprised if this is gone in 24 hours. Less if the Clinton Campaign decides to do an Oppo Research Drop (presuming they have one available).
