Can’t really make conclusions from that statement one way or another.
Yeah but Kyrou then released his own individual statement to say that. He obviously wasn’t happy with the original statement.

Maybe I shouldn't have commented. I haven't read the actual claims in that much detail, I thought the initial guy was a consensual act and then after he left the room the rest of whatever happened, happened. DID NOT know that he called the other guys in, nor him following up the next day to interfere.

Can this thread get back to being what it supposed to be? It isn't the Hockey Canada scandal thread

Just make sure its for a top 6 piece.

Really wouldn't mind a C that finally pushes Backlund down a spot to give him a more palatable workload that he can handle in his declining years.

IMO it's fair game to hit in this thread as we're discussing Dube's potential trade value. More than that, I am interested if the 2.1 million he incurs against the cap will be effected if he is indeed suspended?

But, i agree that speculation over the meaning of his statement should probably be confined to the other thread.

I think it comes down to how the organization views Monahan and if he can possibly become a version of the player he was before these hip injuries. If they feel that way then acquiring a winger would be cheaper and make some sense. If not then I do agree that adding an upgrade on Backlund makes a ton of sense.

Agreed. Probably not the place to discuss his possible involvement, but until there is some closure, the players that may be involved are likely going to be avoided like the plague.

Huge issue for the Ducks and Steel. He's unsigned - do they let it linger? For the Flames mainly it prevents a trade, and keeps him on the cap until something gives.

Ducks? They didn't qualify Steel, whether incidental or not to the accusations, I doubt they are lingering. To keep him the qualifying offer was peanuts, so I think they've moved on.

Did not engage in wrongdoing
For clarity, his (agent's) position seems to be that no one was involved in wrongdoing though. The fact his agent took that extra sentence to defend all players is a bit foreboding.

Didn’t know he wasn’t qualified. I wonder if this had anything to do with it.

Yeah, Dube’s agent is giving “wrongdoing” a bit of a workout.

24 year old with 200 or so games under his belt, skates well, probably worth the risk normally to see if he can get that offense going that got him drafted in the first round. Fourth year in a row he's scored 6 goals though and without the offense there's probably better options in both the top 6 and bottom 6.

Still, to not even be able to find a league minimum one-way contract at this point? I'd be surprised if the investigation didn't have something to do with it.

As for Leslie. I still can't believe grown men feel the need to do the "I know something you don't know" bull####. Insecurities or what? Needs some views on Twitter? Lol.
