But that doesn't change his point at all.

On TV they said you don't want to be in the group of death. Well unless we're in Group A, our group will be the group of death. Because we're Pot 4 team you want to avoid. The only thing keeping us out of Pot 2 is we haven't been this good for long enough. The England fan in me wants no part of Canada in the group stage.

I want a power. Give me Brazil, France, England. Better yet, one of those plus a pot 2 Germany.
I really want Germany

I'm not sure about that. This has been a magical run but remember we are still World Cup rookies. You've got other long established teams in Pot 4 like a Costa Rica, Saudi Arabia, Cameroon, Ghana that England would be best to avoid.
I don't want to draw one of the three Asians from Pot 3, Japan, Korea or Iran. Those guys are grizzled World Cup veterans. Korea is going to it's 10th consecutive World Cup.

1)Score a goal
2)Win a game
3)Somehow advance out of the group
If 1 occurs, satisfied. Thrilled if 2 happens. Unbelievable if 3 happens.

One of the things not talked about much so far that I'm excited about is that all eyes, from around the world and from many, many leagues, will be on Canada during the World Cup. This amount of exposure can only mean great things for our players, especially if they put in quality performances. I hope the World Cup leverages some of our players to higher club placements and interest. Afterwards, it's possible more high end clubs start sniffing around Canada on a regular basis and as a result, our local grassroots programs get better and better developing new star talent.

I would much rather face Costa Rica than Canada considering Canada put up a better record and goal differential against the same qualifying group. My point is that Canada is a better team than their rating suggests, because it includes matches that are irrelevant to the true power level of this group of players. Drawing Canada is like having an extra USA or Mexico in your group, and those are Pot 2 teams.
In NHL terms, would you rather face 2018-2019 St. Louis (the year they found Binnington) or 2003-2004 St. Louis (when they had made the playoffs for 25 consecutive years)?

When Canada were lining up to play Bermuda and Cayman Islands 12 months ago, if you had told me they would make the World Cup, let alone top the group, I wouldn't have believed you. Still can't believe they've actually done it.
Pot 3, Pot 4, Pot 5, who cares? Canada hasn't played a true world power in what, 12 years (when they lost 5-0 to Argentina)?J I'm just happy to be at the show.

Just avoid Germany in pot 2 and really that would be the fine.

I’ve dreamed my whole life about Canada playing against a true powerhouse. Wanting us to become a footballing nation. Let’s see how it goes.
Germany in particular because of my heritage and having friends over in Germany would be so cool to me. I know we’d probably get smacked around but that’s my dream match. Phonzie is with me, he told KJ in an interview the other day he wants Germany.
I know drawing Qatar is our best chance at making it out of the group. In the end I think any draw will be tough and we’ll be underdogs against most every team we play. But this group (and the fans) wouldn’t have it any other way.

I know what you are getting at, but I’d rather we face such teams in the knockout stages, because we got a group that we can potentially qualify from.

As a fan, I am just happy Canada will be there.
I sure as #### hope the players and staff don't feel that way though. R16 should be the goal of each and every person at CSA and the team. If not, why even go?
In the WC, almost any team has a chance at beating any team. Canada is not the worst team going to Qatar. I hope they believe.
