Okay, its pretty standard, predictable and formulaic fare, but it was fun overall. The cast was good...except...I'm sorry to say...Gal Gadot.
She really phoned this one in, and really, it seemed like her character wasnt given a whole lot to do.
Other than that though, it was enjoyable. A light, fun popcorn movie.

Imo, they all mailed in their performances. And especially the Rock from my perspective. He was as emotional as a block of wood. All them were, really . Even Ryan Reynolds was acting at 50 percent steam.
I suppose that lines up with this movie being a P.I.A to film.

it was just Wonder Woman, Deadpool and The Rock (like not even one of his specific characters, just generic The Rock) in street clothes, thinking about their bank account as they sleepwalk through every scene.

Fresh on Disney+ is real good.
Highly recommended, love when actors get a good solid chance to chew the scenery a bit.

I liked Fresh, but I could see it not working for everyone, I think if you like movies like Her or Ex Machina, it's probably in your wheel house.

I loved Her, I thought it was a great sci-fi movie, and Ex Machina was good too, maybe I'll check it out.

I can’t imagine two movies more different from Fresh than Her or Ex Machina. Especially Her. Both in concept and tone.

Netflix has a weird obsession with big budget garbage. The Adam Project is yet another awful piece of crap. It’s not like Hollywood action movie have a good track record recently but Netflix seems intent on one upping the awfulness.

I actually was specifically talk about the tone and pacing. The content is completely different, but its a slow, deep, dark look inside a character, that's the tone I felt when I watched the movie.
Not the same movie at all, but I think people who liked those movies will like Fresh, I got what all 3 of those movies were doing, I even understand why people like them, but found myself lukewarm on all 3, I just generally seek out something funner.

Personally it feels more like a cheeky, less serious version of Hostel than those movies. Pretty good movie overall.

Common thread here is Ryan Reynolds. I think he's just an abysmal actor and hard to watch in pretty much anything. He's good as Deadpool but he plays pretty much variations of that in every single role and it's awful.

I’d say calling Reynolds abysmal is a bit harsh. He’s by no means a great thespian …but he’s pretty likeable and inoffensive.
I think he just found his lane with ‘brain candy’ flicks.

I'm a mark for Ryan Reynolds ever since 2 Guys, A Girl, And a Pizza Place and Van Wilder. That he's made a career on playing variations of these characters for 20+ years bothers me not at all because I'm a fan of the character. His peak has certainly been the two Deadpool films, but I've liked him in pretty well everything he's done. The guy is one of the most self-aware people in Hollywood.
Since I'm also a sucker for time travel plots I enjoyed The Adam Project. I thought it was better than Red Notice, not only in plot, but also in performances. Gadot and Johnson were really flat in Red Notice, but Walker Scobell was a pleasant surprise as the younger Adam, and with the limited time he had on screen Mark Ruffalo delivered. It could have a bit more polish with certain scenes and I thought the climax was underwhelming, but it was a good popcorn flick and far from being any kind of disaster.

Adam Project is bulk sci-fi action perfected. They hit every note that has been played over and over, even the
Which was also used in Spiderman because of course it was.

Only about 30 years late to the party...?
Kevin Costner is collecting an old-age pension and social security now.

Most everyone probably knows this but Sam Jackson by box office take is the #1 movie star of all time. He's been in over 63 movies with a combined take approaching $6 billion. Incredible.

Yeah, well, playing bit-parts in Marvel films probably skews that number by a hell of a lot.
