Wasnt it just the Refrigeration Plant, I can't recall if they replaced the actual chilling pipelines below the concrete.

Think this thing will fit under the saddle?

Spoiler!

The fact of the matter is that the Dome has a pretty decent jumbotron.

It's no Cowboys stadium jumbotron, but it's better than most of the rinks I've been to (that I paid attention to the jumbotron)

You should visit more rinks then.

It's average to below average at best. Resolution on the screens is poor. Many of the screens are damaged or have areas where the display doesn't quite work right anymore. The energy board was good in 2006. That is almost a decade ago. Things change. Large high resolution displays simply destroy the energy board display in terms of visual quality and colour.

It's certainly fine and doesn't need to be replaced as long as the saddledome is still active (unless this drags on another 7 years) but it's absolutely on the back end of its useful lifecycle.

It's better than Edm, Ana, SJ & Phoenix. Vancouver and LA have better ones.

It's honestly getting to the point where I think this project might be too complex and too ambitious for the Flames to pull off.

Just pick a site that is in downtown, build a God damned 19,000 seat arena and be done with it.

Some 14 year old kid put together a rendition of what he thinks the new arena should be like.

He's got some skills for his age, but if the Flames actually released that as an arena design I'd be severely disappointed. Adults may look at it with rose coloured glasses because it's a kid, but that's an utterly boring, bland outside design by today's standards.
