I find a lot of the acting rather suspect, men and women, but it was decent enough that I will give it another go. I have to say, the preview posted earlier of next season looked pretty good.
I love the show, but I don't think there is one good actor in the show. I don't mind the Chinese kid but everyone else is mediocre to terrible.

I think the lead actor, Andrew Lincoln, is actually a very good actor. I just think he needs to find his character and the show needs direction. Also Lennie James, who played Morgan Jones who was the guy early in the first episode protecting his son is a great actor. I hope he's brought back sooner rather then later. I think he can be a big star in this show.
Well, it’s official: Glen Mazzara is stepping in for Frank Darabont as The Walking Dead‘s new showrunner.
Sources confirm Mazzara is taking over the top writer-producer job on the breakout hit. Mazzara has worked on The Shield, Life, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Hawthorne, and he joined Dead at the start of production on season 2.
Who knows what any of this means, I just hope the show cuts down on the cheese, because the first season had greatness in it, but not enough.

I like Andrew Lincoln, I don't think he is "very good", but he doesn't pull the show down in any way. The one guy, Lennie James who played the guy in the first episode was amazing. He was IMO the only really good actor from season 1 and he was only in the first episode.
I, like you, hope he comes back. He was really good.
Wow...a lot of whining in here about a great show.
Sure, but the whining is warranted. Critically, a lot of people complain about the terrible dialogue, acting, and how the show fell off near the end.
It isn't like the complaining isn't warranted. No one can tell me with a straight face that this show has good consistent acting. It isn't to the point where it bothers me, but I expect more from AMC.

Well, I'm pretty much on shows all the time for bad content, acting, etc. and I had no issues with TWD. Guess nothing bothered me. I watched the whole season in one afternoon and loved it. Compared to some of the other crap on TV right now, shows like TWD are fantastic.
I think maybe some are expecting too much quite frankly.
I'll be watching come October, some shows can transcend bad acting. Look at Star Wars, that's horrible acting but it's a must see classic. The good thing about this is the acting/actors can get better, seems easy enough to cycle through characters... Besides it was a short pilot to gauge reaction, I think it'll only get better.
Off topic but sticking with AMC. A colleague of mine was at the stampede and saw Colm Meaney. I couldn't quite picture who he was so imdb-ed him and it turns out AMC is shooting a new series here in Calgary called Hell on Wheels and he's in it. It's about the building of the railway after the civil war.

Anyone remember how utterly average the first 6 episode season of The Office was?
The Walking Dead is a good show, the first season was good, I really enjoyed it. I just think it can be a lot better.

I can't be certain, but I think Hell on Wheels will be on in between Walking Dead and Mad Men.
Mid July-October-Breaking Bad
Late October-January-Walking Dead
February-March or April-Hell On Wheels
Late April to July-Mad Men
Once again, I can't be certain about this, and I'm not sure where The Killing Season 2 will fit in, but I think this rough estimate is on the right track.
I remember last year when I think it was Dexter, Walking Dead, and Boardwalk Empire all with new episodes for about a month period.
That month was freakin awesome. 3 top notch shows on every Sunday night. Great way to start the work week. Really hope that happens again this fall.
Yep, Dexter and Boardwalk started in September, and Mad Men was finishing in Sept/early Oct and then Walking Dead took over AMC right around Halloween, so yeah, Sundays were just unreal last fall and will be the same thisd year.
Premieres this fall
Boardwalk-Sept 25
Dexter October 2
Walking Dead October 11
