I don't know anything about Fall Out Boy as an artist, but listening to the mockups a few times, I've grown from not liking to hating that damn song already. That's a really bad sign, it would propably be even more disliked than Barbara Streisand really fast.
Sleep Now in the Fire wasn't as good as I expected it to, but it's not bad and I think it has the most potential for getting that "fans love it, opposings fans hate it" thing going.
Righteous Smoke is more like a random collection of pump-up noise. I would call it the safe choice.
Gold on the Ceiling worked surprisingly well, but I think it's a little bland.
So basicly, anything but FOB for me.

Might as well use a classic New Kids song then lol
The classic video and one of the best songs of 2013 "The Remix" is an instant classic. NKOTB : I like the rebuild http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN1EFs9XQoc The rest of the album is terrible though.
You know how with Barbra Streisand they had the goal horn go off, the track does a loop for a few seconds, the "Yahoo" comes on and then it breaks into the woo-oo-oo-ooh whatever.
What about taking between 0:15 - 0:30 as that loop until the yahoo
And then burst into 0:45 after the yahoo
I'll try and put together an audio clip later today, but in the mean time, thoughts?

Hyperbole much? I am in no way a Fallout Boy fan but that song is a damn near perfect goal song. But while we're at it can we lose Wolfmother for our PP song?
No hyperbole. There is nothing that makes the FOB song "perfect" for a goal song, or any type of song. As others have suggested, it gets annoying really fast, its by a band that most can't stand, and it would be a laughable addition to the Flames presentation, and mark my words, people would see it as an embarrassment about a month into the season if it got selected.
I don't actually see how anyone could say that its perfect. Just because it has "chanting" and is "modern" and mentions fire doesn't do it for me. I don't know why we have to copy other arenas but do it in the most annoying lame fashion possible. The Flames should pave their own way with their goal song, not try to do what the Rangers or Hawks do -- at least theirs are somewhat cool, not a really annoying pop punk boy band. If you're gonna the general rules of the "goal song" then at least do it by a respectable band, not some annoying tripe that the opposition and their fans will laugh at and follow up by "lighting up" our young team.
And for those who say the band shouldn't matter -- if we dig up a Celine Dion song that mentions fire and has chanting would that be suitable?

That first part (0:15-0:30) sounds a bit like Rock and Roll, Part 2...
Could always go old school and play "Birthday" by the Beatles, just like NHL 94.

I really don't get the FOB hate, but whatever, to each their own. Just don't flip out if it becomes the new song because, quite frankly, it's 1 000 000 times better than Duck Sauce.
If I had to choose right now I would be fine with 3 of the 4 mockups that AC did. The only one that doesn't quite work is the Black Keys track. My rankings right now:
1-Fall Out Boy
2-Smoke...whatever by that random band
3-RATM

Once again, because YOU think Fall Out Boy is 1 000 000 times better than Duck Sauce it doesn't make it a fact.
I think Duck Sauce is absolutely horrible, but still better than that Fall Out Boy embarrassment. What makes your opinion more valid than mine?

I know this is all subjective, but in my opinion you're out to lunch man. That FOB song would make for a god awful goal song and is in no way an improvement on Barbara Streisand. It sounds like a desperate attempt (thats completely misses) to hit a "young demographic". It just sounds awkward to me. And that is not from blind fall out boy hate, it's just not a good choice for a goal song.
Gold on the ceiling is the best mock up done so far in my opinion. Catchy song, gets the crowd going, and isn't annoying garbage. Would be somewhat unique as well.

Well said, the FOB song sounds like a soccer mom in charge of marketing trying to be "hip" with the young crowd would select it.
I agree about Gold on the ceiling too, its actually really good in a classic rock kind of way, but not classic rock. Its got a very old school "hockey" song type vibe about it without being overly contrived.

Definitely agree on gold on the ceiling. A new-ish song, but it provides that old school hockey vibe.
