You can't even really start your own server can you? I think you have to rent one from a certified server place.
I'll just have to join low population servers and do it that way.

Yah you could be right - if we planned a time we could flood a low pop one and then just do what we wanted.

You should be able to search for Platoons just use the Platoons dropdown in Battlelog and choose the option that mentions Find.

That's the forum for the clan I play TF2 with, they've setup a BF3 server in Chicago, so might be a good place to play.

the little bird is one hard vehicle to level up. the guns aren't strong enough to take out armor, and you have to be very accurate to hit infantry on the ground and steady enough to get enough bullets on them for a kill. had a much better time in the A-10, that cannon just annihilates armor

Your the people that make the game the most fun because of the unintentional unforced crashes.
There's nothing better then seeing some plane or helicopter wobbling across the sky with no control randomly firing missiles and guns at nothing in particular while you can almost hear the pilot screaming "hoy sh%t"
Then looking at a plane barreling right at you and knowing that your life as an infantry man is so critical and important that your enemy is willing to crash a 100 million dollar jet directly into you.

I sniped a pilot out of a helicopter last night, it was awesome.
Stupid gunner switched though and kept flying

So what do you guys think of the destructibility?
On one hand it's pretty cool, entire buildings can be gone by the end of the map, just piles of rubble.
On the other hand, it's pretty annoying that it's so easy to do. Seems every time Seine comes up the first thing is a dozen engineers with rockets destroying every building possible, before anyone even gets there. Just seem cheesy.

It makes dropping bombs more realistic
I like the idea of having a team mate in a chopper spraying a building with missiles to drop that building on one pesky camping sniper.
The rocket engineers idea is actually pretty realistic, espeically in terms of street fighting.

It is cool, and can be very fun. Realistic doesn't always make a good game though, and when you have a situation where there's one tactic that wins over all other tactics then it really stops being fun and is usually an indication of bad design.

To be fair, the scorched earth tactic has always been the favoured military tactic of just about every commander since Alexander.
I've never been in a theatre of operations, let alone an urban theatre, but I can tell you, if I had rockets, I'd be blowing everything up I could see.
