That's because he got pressed by Tim to make it up to Calgary. There is nothing to make up you feel how you feel, he felt it was best not to go back to Calgary. I don't think he started feeling the need to be close to his family on July 12th and had to call Tre to tell him, he knew all along he was leaving.

I am not upset with the fact he left, his reasons for leaving are fine. The only thing that is bothersome is the way he left by lying, and the way he has handled himself afterwards.

I am over him leaving.

I am also sure when his career is over and he was just another good hockey player that passed through the NHL and won nothing instead of a franchise legend with multiple records to his name he will regret that immensely. Or maybe we have been misguided in his competitiveness and he doesn't actually care about such things in which case that isn't a player you are going to win with anyhow.

Tkachuk obviously is a skilled player, smart player, like Laine, and then Elias Lindholm, a defensive, smart, two-way player that you really rely on in hard games, I think that's kind of what Boone is as well
