The only thing worse than the Jets defense is the Oilers goaltending.

Alas Edmonton is No Good as they somehow allowed a truly absurd 26 goals again in those same games, causing them to lose all 4 in regulation. Score 18 goals for in 4 games and not even a loser point to show.

This made me so happy, I read it over 3 times so I could really absorb it.

And I quote ‘especially on defence, which has been a black hole for decades’. Has?
Also in the article:
- Neal is a useful player (no mention of how much they are paying him to be on the taxi squad )
- Khaira looks big, fast and confident
- the oilers right side of defence has become an area of strength
- Evan Bouchard has elite skills and pedigree
- Ra-ra, go oilers, we are the best franchise in the world

I dont even have to look to know that any article containing that kind of stuff was written by David Staples,

Wonder what the excuses will be tonight? Because certainly future Vezina winner and first ballot HoF’er Mike Smith couldn’t have let in 4 goals on 11 shots all by himself could he?

I couldn’t get past the 1st paragraph.
It’s nice how Spector conveniently forgot about Smith’s turd burgler festival last summer.
Mark is a walking talking trash can. Remember when he was trolling that the Flames would protect Brouwer in the Vegas expansion draft. I think Staples exists solely to deflect the lunacy Spector pumps out.
That way Mark can walk the streets in peace & say “Get a load of this idiot”

I would have expected the same. It was actually yet another oilers fanboy named Kurt Leavins. If you can spin the oilers as a cup favourite you’ll get published up there.

Edmonton Poster #1: reality check: to get to 62 pts (approx playoff bar), #Canucks will need to go something like 23-13-1 (.635) over final 37 games
Edmonton Poster #2: Just for fun I did the same for Ottawa, they would have to go 29-11 the rest of year to hit 62 points
Us? Oilers need to go 22-17 to hit 62 points. Surely they can do better than that!
Edmonton Poster #3: They're 5-8 against non-Ottawa teams. I'm not betting on it.

The general impact of 4 divisions, plus relative quality within each division, is under appreciated right now but will be discussed at length another month or so from now

It’s really baffling why they have to try so hard to convince themselves they’re some sort of dynasty of legends. They’re below 30th place Detroit in GA per game.

Don't be too hard on him. He is just regurgitating what the Edmonton media has been spouting for years: they are convinced that NHL players are incapable of checking or defending against Der Derplelgänger without taking a penalty.

I have been texting a couple of buddies (group text) ongoing Neal v Lucic stats updates.
At first they were killing me, but recently they have gone silent, like real real silent.
