Celebrated Square Root Day

It's like what someone in the 70's/80's would mock up as a futuristic vehicle.

On their own van, with cardboard and spray paint.

This is actually really funny because you're absolutely right.
'Ridiculous Windows' - Check
'Windshield Wiper designed by a child? - Check
Essentially non-existent lights? - Check
Still ridiculously Super Expensive? - Oh you better bet thats a check

The funniest thing is that Tesla has one wrapped to sort of look like an F150, and one thats wrapped to look like a Tundra.
On those its clearly emphasizes how poor the rear seat headroom is going to be - its like they are advertising for the competitors.

Can't see your average Bubba Joe using one to haul 2x4s and paint cans to jobsites, which is pretty much the function of a pickup.

There are many many pickups in Calgary that have hauled neither

I don’t know why anyone’s surprised by the Tesla truck. It looks exactly like it’s concept. It always looked idiotic. I never understood the love/anticipation for it.

I can only imagine how annoying it would be in the passenger seat when the windshield wiper won't remove the dirt/snow/ice from the upper right quadrant of your view.
Plus, the torque on the wiper assembly will likely be so high that the components will easily break down and one can only imagine the cost of a replacement blade.

I'm pretty sure it's 2 separate blades, so replacments should be easy. But ya, the stress on that arm and gear assembly if you, say, don't brush wet snow off first is going to0o be immense. Which you'll be tempted to do, given the suckyness of trying to clean that thing by hand.

The beauty of electric vehicles is that you pre-condition them before getting in so in theory you should almost never have to brush snow off the windshield.

The quantity of snow that would cause undue stress on the wiper arm and motor is precisely that amount which wouldn't just 'melt away' by pre-heating the vehicle and would require manual snow-brushing.
Then again, who is anyone kidding, only people with enough money to garage this embarrassing hunk of garbage are ever going to own one. It's not like it'll be parked outside much.

Sure it would be. The kind of person that buys this is also the kind of person that has their garage completely filled with other useless junk.

Off the top of my head all I can think of is that Tesla, for whatever reason, needed cash-flow.
But, by all metrics that I can see...they shouldnt.
That is odd.
