Riddle me this:
Why didn't they drive the van up the tracks to Terminus? They would have got there faster, safer, with less energy and if Terminus is a false hope they'd have a van, if Terminus isn't a false hope then they'd have an extra van.

I had the same thought. Terminus seems too perfect, especially because there were literally no defenses or even a lock on the gate. I wouldn't be surprised if the meat she was grilling was human flesh.

So Terminus is the new Woodbury and when Daryls group show up, the leader will be the new governor?

I guess it will all come to timing on who claims what first when the group arrives.

Agreed, something is odd. I suspect that they knew they would coming. If I was advertizing my whereabouts, and sking every Tom Dick and Harry to come to my front door, I would have a pretty good early warning system in place. I suspect they have OP's and other means of communication.

This made me giggle. On a side note, Eugene is a genius, therefore his nav. skills are supperior

Do we know that a crappy soccer mom wagon would be able to drive down the tracks? I suspect it would not, there could be all sorts of barriers to succeeding in driving down the tracks. Thinking about driving along the tracks in Canada, and I can think of many places it could not pass. Being on foot allows for much better response to threats and all sitting in a minivan that has limited maneuverability because it is bouncing along straddling train tracks.

The whole, Glenn wont stop for anything until he finds Maggie was pretty annoying, unless he's gone insane.

I like the show, but the scene when he saw the notes from Maggie for the first time and took off like Forrest Gump made me laugh.

Yeah, been suspecting for a while that Terminus will be a place of horrors. End of the line. Terminate. The name screams metaphor and clumsy foreshadowing. Plus, you know they need some sort of plot hook for the upcoming episodes. I guess it could be a nice place, and something happens to it, but I have a feeling it's a bad place. As said, the new Woodbury.
Which is fine, as long as they do it right this time. Please do it right this time writers!

From what I saw of next weeks promo, Terminus is not going to be all daisies and sing-alongs, which makes me look forward to it.

It has to be bad, how can they have continue the series if the characters find a utopia?

Well, like I said, something bad could happen to the utopia. But yeah, purely from a plot perspective that makes the most sense.

Which is pretty much the key plot device for Walking Dead.
Move. Find hopeful place. Something bad happens. Move. Find hopeful place. Something bad happens. Move.
Logically Terminus will likely follow that pattern. I haven't watched the past group of episodes, but I'll watch the finale. Season finales always seem to have a lot of meat for WD.

Yeah, which is why I said, do it right this time writers. Woodbury was a disaster.
From the previews this has promise. A sort of creepy cool, which is at least something this show still does well and has potential for. it is a zombie story after all. We need more creepiness!

I have always veiwed the title of the show as a comment on the living, not the dead.

Yeah, it's definitely a metaphor for the living, Rick most of all. He's gone from by the book good guy, to altering some of his morals, to Walking Dead devoid of hope and emotion. Course now he's rebounding.

I would think a minivan would be able to make it a kilometre or two before something damages it. Or upturns it. With 8 adults plus gear, there would be a lot of people without seatbelts on. With getting Eugene to Washington safely the top priority, proceeding on foot it the safer course of action.
Plus now you have a means of escape that is within a day's travel if you have to get out; and could also be outside of whatever monitoring the people at Terminus may have setup.
Regarding the unlocked gates; could part of the reason be that they are far enough inside that the zombies don't notice them? With the first gate just being chained but not locked, could that be enough to just keep zombies from stumbling in?

Getting 8 adults with equipment in and out of the van in a hurry would be a nightmare. If they drive up on an ambush/roadblock it is all over. You could not engage anyone with your weapons from inside that vehicle.
If it was me and it was between no vehicle or an unsuitable vehicle, I would pick no vehicle.

I said it earlier, I think they are being watched for some time as they approach. I reckon those gates are usually locked. There is plenty of stuff around to show that there is regular activity.
I can see it be SOP, that when new people are noticed everyone goes to certain locations/action stations, incase it all goes pear shaped.

Anyone think that Maggie burning that picture of her while telling Glenn that he will never need it again is foreshadowing that he will? Otherwise it seemed pretty stupid to burn what is one of the last pictures of yourself. I would expect in the world they live in that they would end up separated again over the course of time.

It could be for sure, but I don't see it happening that way. I think it came up because she never let him take pictures of her, so he took one while she was sleeping, which of course she hated even more. The way the scene ended it seemed very happy and safe, I thin they'll be safe for a while too. I know that would be the perfect way to do it, but I just don't see it from this series. That's some serious GoT stuff there. Usually a show like this will have a bit of weird music with the scene to tell you, 'we are foreshadowing, oooooh,' Maybe I'm just getting too jaded with the series, but that's how it feels to me. Felt like it was a resolution.
Like most continuation series, all bets are off when you get to the final season, but I don't think they'll kill Maggie or Glenn till then if ever.
