Removing a feature that is making the app tolerable. Stable genius stuff. Unless I make my account private, which disables my ability to engage with accounts that don't "follow" me, I am bombarded with bots following my account.

If he's so worried about eyeballs on advertisements, make it so you can't block promoted Tweets....or Xs, or whatever the f### it is now.

It’s continued to be used because content creators know people use Twitter to get content. By using twitter logged in or not to access content you support twitter. People need to stop using it in any form if you want it to die.

It’s fashionable to tell Fuzz (also me and others) who enjoy the platform and feel it’s the best for our purposes to stop using it. Despite its flaws and its sh1tty owner I hang out there a lot (I have tens of thousands of followers) mostly to combat TFG and his idiot fans. As a Canadian I know my impact is not great but I’m trying to do my part to preserve American democracy, largely because I believe that whatever happens in the States will eventually happen here and I can’t tolerate that notion. I’m staying for the duration. Don’t like it? I don’t care

No offense but this seems ludicrous to me. Your impact is not great not because you're Canadian: your impact is not great because you're just some dude tweeting into the ether. You may have tens of thousands of followers, but the other seven billion people in the world couldn't care less.

No one is telling you what to do, so you can relax. Elon keeps shooting from the hip making changes, when the way it was before was just fine (verified users, for example). The platform keeps getting crappier, and people are leaving it. You can chose to stay.

I just don't get how that is possible, as the product is so terrible (literally every feature Elon introduces makes it worse).

Now this guy is definitely on the q-anon spectrum, so I can totally see him being entirely wrong. But does anybody have any reputable links to engagement.

All I can find is how revenues are down 50% to 90%.

If you start letting bots and trolls use the platform with no guardrails, of course you're going to see "views" and "engagement" increase. You're also going to see real people slow down their engagement and soon it will just be bots arguing with bots all over the place.
